Oh. Wow. The look of concern on his face says it all. He might’ve experienced it a bit through the Diamonds and what dreams of Pink’s memories he had, but that? That was still hard to imagine.

“That’s terrible! No parent should do that!”

At least the scowl wasn’t there for long, but Steven had to push down his worry for now. At least Zagreus wasn’t there anymore. He felt like he could understand the pain of not being able to see your mother. They might’ve had different situations (and opinions), but still.

“Yeah, I’m sure, too.” He kicked up some of the sand. Some new friends would be nice, but he still wished he’d been a bit more prepared for leaving. That was what made the overwhelm worse.
