Yes, I'm much the same way. Knights can't often afford to be picky about their meals when one is placed before them, you never know when another one might be coming. You eat what's in front of you and be glad you got it. Hunger will get you killed on the battlefield.

It's not unlike growing up in an orphanage. Us kids were taught how to grow our own food, to gather edible plants and berries, and how to hunt and fish. Can't afford to be picky when you depend on what you can scrounge up for your next meal.
