![]() Premise ⚔️️ Rules ⚔️️ FAQ ⚔️️ Taken ⚔️️ Reserves ⚔️️ Apply ⚔️️ Locations ⚔️️ Bestiary ⚔️️ Top-Levels Only ⚔️️ ![]() A ⦿ Soaking in Your Arrival
Regardless of what you were in the middle of, you and your familiar have been magically pulled into the world of Avalon just above the Bay's waters. After a brief plunge into the Bay, the rush of water filling your ears and soaking up into every creak and crevice of your body, you may need to cough to clear your airways when you rise above the surface. It's still chilly, but not enough that you can't manage on your own. The Lady of the Lake is swimming around under the water, helping to rescue any wayward travelers who look like they're struggling in the water. This month's helpers are giant pillow jellies, a species of jellyfish that is capable of ballooning itself at the surface to create bouncy pads for characters to hop across to the shore, should they choose or not be able to swim. They come in a variety of bioluminescent colors, but do not seem to be very talkative even to animal magic users. Those who try may find themselves being ignored, even if they hear the jellies talking amongst themselves about this and that. If anyone tries to ask the Lady of the Lake for directions, she will direct you to Archimedes at the Rent-a-Ride. The shores themselves are littered with new arrivals complaining their way up a staircase carved into the walls of the White Cliffs. There is no railing, so be careful, but if you do fall, be prepared for a mysterious sand hand to reach out of the side of the cliffs to catch you. The hand will pat you atop the head twice before retreating back into the wall. This is the Cliff Beast; despite the name, he is quite friendly. *Reminder: Your character's familiar may or may not be with your character in their initial plunge. If the familiar isn't partial to water, it may meet your character on the beach or sit atop their head while they swim. Or if they are, they might splash about and swim alongside your character. Familiars have different personalities and body specs and we leave those up to the players. B ⦿ The Caravan to Camelot
These carriages use fae technology that combats weight, so your character will be able to get in regardless of whether they're light as a feather or weigh two tons. The carts have air conditioning when it's hot, heating when it's cold, and a mystical shield to protect from bugs. There is also a mini-bar that pops out of the console with nip bottles. Characters can use their smartphones to connect to Camelot's internet service, C ⦿ The Red Spring
If you don't want to relax in the room, try taking a dip in the spring for another chance to meet your fellow travelers. The waters have restorative properties that help horses and travelers recover quickly when drunk. It is known to relieve stress, improve energy levels, and mildly accelerate healing. It may be a little chilly when you get out though, so make sure you don't slip rushing back indoors when you get out! The springs are also home to a large training grounds just outside town limits, where there are teachers who will teach basic magic safety and help you discover what kind of magic you have together with other new arrivals. Try target practice, obstacle courses, meditation circles, and other ways to try to figure out just what you can do... if you didn't already have an accidental discovery on the ride there. ![]() After the new arrivals come in, they'll find that this month they came in on the middle of a rather tumultuous time... people are arguing and debating about a future decision to be made. King Arthur recently tried to negotiate with Celliwig's people to open the doors to Camelot, but they refused, and the people have been left with a decision: 1. attempt long-distance, slow wooing of Queen Elphame via the Elphame Traders of the next couple of months, 2. attempt to prove a balanced and deeper understanding of the need for both pure and impure hearts by suggesting an acceptance of trials from Celliwig, or 3. band together under Camelot's flag to invade Celliwig. Celliwig is a place of communication between Elphame and Camelot that bypasses the need for weeks of dangerous, often fatal travel, so the choice is very important in regards to how Camelot both presents itself to the fae people in the future. To that end, people with strong beliefs about particular choices have arranged gatherings to draw people in to hear their perspectives on what the choice should be. A ⦿ Honey Over Vinegar
B ⦿ A Balanced Approach
C ⦿ A Show of Strength
• Amethyst: siphoners increase the potency of counter-curses and light mages will find this stone makes their hard light shields stronger than ever • Agate: strengthen cognitive abilities like post-cognition for a clearer picture of what happened by enhancing perception, and death mages will find they're able to extend their possession times by about 30 minutes by using an agate to stablize their aura • Moonstones: will increase navigation as a traveler's protection for kinetic users-- no longer will you risk tripping over a rock while going at enhanced speeds, or can be traded to fairies to potentially bring down a steep price to something more reasonable • Black tourmaline: a crystal that shields from opposition/negativity-- for technomancers and elementalists, this means that technology is more likely to side with them over another technomancer, or elementalists will find that when using opposing elements, theirs will come out stronger-- like water vs fire, electric vs rock, etc. • Hematite: can soothe blood, leaving it a good tool to enhance animal and blood magic-- animals may trust you more readily by having a calming effect on them, and blood mages may find that they heal more readily after using their abilities • Boji stone: alchemists will find that this is a good stabilizer for for particularly volatile potion combinations, and the properties of this stone leaves green mages to sense new types of plants they haven't yet encountered in passing, even if they're not looking at them ![]() With the surprisingly tame day in the Giant Cave, one would think that the Ash Mountains were something of a safe place. No one really bothered the travelers, but that's because no one had been home at the time. as it turns out, the Giant Cave is home to a giant... douchebag of a minotaur. Not a giant, despite the name. His name is Simon and he doesn't like to share, and now that a bunch of people have gone and taken his rocks (he didn't even know there were crystals inside, nor does he do anything with them). Now he has to take his revenge, regardless of not knowing who actually took the crystals that were never really his to begin with, they just happened to be in rocks near where he sleeps. A ⦿ A Stone's Throw from Revenge
B ⦿ There's Safety in Numbers
C ⦿ Gross
Mages who are able to handle the smell are asked to come help perform a ritual of water purification for the lowertown's water system. This ritual involves multiple groups of people performing synchronic magic, a magic type that requires you to be in perfect sync with your partner. Draw a special ritual circle with four candles at equidistant points. Chant a spell in sync with your partner, and blow a special powder made of ground jasper, charcoal, and rosemary into the center of the circle. It will be drawn into the candles' flames and with enough people doing this, all impurities will be removed from the lowertown's water and dissipate into the atmosphere.
**** The above key points are a new feature we're going to start including on TDMs and Events. Since it's new, the format is still fluid, so please let us know if you have any feedback for this section here. It should just include brief summaries of each prompt to make parsing information easier and more accessible. The original prompts should still be read and referred to for complete information and details. **** MOD NOTES: • All test drive prompts are open to anyone in the game at any time to create your own logs with, but this post should have top-levels by potential new characters only. Current characters may reply to any threads, but should not top-level comment on this post. • If your application is accepted, you may accept TDM threads as game canon as long as both players consent. Characters may begin threading as soon as their journal is accepted to the communities. • A poll will go up a little later this week regarding the mentioned voting, which should be answered ICly by each character you play. The poll will remain open through the 15th so that newly accepted characters may also vote if they choose to. •If nothing here tickles your fancy, try one of this month's Quests for your TDM prompt. • The first "Arrival" prompts are present on every TDM, but contain seasonal tweaks for flavor. All other prompts will change monthly. • Questions about this TDM's content? Comment here! If you have a question about the game at-large, please head over to the FAQ. |

Ami Mizuno | Sailor Moon | ???? / Technomancy
Ami gasped as the cold water hit her skin, a sharp contrast to the intense burning that had enveloped her moments before. Inhaling water by mistake, she immediately kicked up towards the light, breaking the surface of the water with a splash. Around her, she could see and hear others surfacing, but no-one that she recognised. Treading water she quickly scanned her surroundings. It seemed as though they were in a lake of some sort, and she noticed a plethora of creatures both in the water and on shore. A black turtle circled her lazily.
Is this what Greek mythology refers to as the River Styx? Perhaps I really am dead this time, she wondered with a pang of fear and grief, taking deep powerful strokes towards the shoreline. As she and others moved towards the shore, it seemed that each creature followed or was waiting for one specific person. Emerging from the lake dripping, she noticed that the black turtle, which had an intricate snake carving on its shell, was following her. She knelt down to talk to it.
"Hi there," she said softly, feeling a little silly. "Are you...my guide?"
Perhaps mythology had got it wrong, and instead of a ferryman escorting them across the river of death, it was...for want of a better word...a spirit animal escorting them out of a lake?
The turtle kind of shrugged, although it was hard to tell with a turtle. She sighed and stood, wringing water out of her clothes and hair as she looked around, wondering what to do next. She belatedly noticed she was no longer wearing her senshi uniform and was back to the clothing she'd been wearing before the last fight.
Arrival C: The Red Spring
It had been an emotionally exhausting day, and Ami felt pushed to her limits. Not only was she still mentally and physically recovering from her 'death', but the unexpected arrival, disorientation and then long journey was taking a toll. She was really looking forward to a rest so she could come to terms with and analyse everything that had happened.
First she needed to find her room at the inn. Bunking with an unknown person was causing her some anxiety, and she only hoped that she'd get along with the other person, or at the very least, each was content to keep to themselves. What if it's a boy?? Her face heats up in a blush. Surely whoever was in charge would be putting people in same-sex rooms...
She knocks tentatively on a room door, hoping that this is the right room...
Later, after carefully storing her scant belongings, she changes into her bathing suit, which, for some reason, had been included her stuff from home. Ami was looking forward to soaking in the hot spring, especially when she heard that it had restorative powers. Perhaps she'd be able to analyse the water? Just in case, she had grabbed a spare small empty bottle to get a sample.
She steps into the hot water, letting out a sigh as she sinks down against one of the edges of the spring.
Wildcard!
[If you've got an idea or setting in mind, feel free to hit me up!]
Soaking in Your Arrival
"AMI-CHAN!"
Ami wouldn't find herself alone for long. Makoto had traveled down to the bay to keep an eye out for people from home, and to greet other newcomers too, so seeing that familiar short blue bob being pulled to shore by a turtle? Her face lights up as she runs and waves at her fellow senshi, a bear made of jade green lightning loping alongside her.
no subject
"....Mako-chan?"
She spies Makoto running towards her, with some sort of green bear beside her, and stumbles forward to meet her friend. She'd been so worried...but then....
Are we both dead? Her and Makoto had both been hit at the same time - she'd seen Makoto dissolving in front of her.
Her eyes fill with tears. "Mako-chan..."
no subject
Makoto doesn't stop until she sweeps Ami into a bear hug, holding her tight and even misting a bit. Ami might also notice that she's not transformed or wearing her school fuku, instead sporting a green buttoned tank top and jeans.
"Oh my god, I've missed you! Are you okay? You're not hurt, are you?"
no subject
"No, I'm okay, but Mako-chan, I'm getting you all wet!"
She gently pushes the taller girl back so they can talk.
"Are you okay?" She examines Makoto with a critical doctor's eye, but can't see any obvious signs of damage. She's confused about why Makoto has missed her - it's only been, at most, maybe 20 minutes since they last saw each other.
"During the attack...I saw you...us...disintegrate, like dust." She holds up a hand, just to be sure she's still in one piece.
"Did we die again? Is that why we're here?"
no subject
Crap, that's what Ami remembers last?!
"No no no!" Wait no, that's not right. "I-I mean... yeah, we did? And some other stuff happened in the middle, but Sailor Moon brought us back. This? This is something completely different..."

Happy to wrap this one up here if you want!
Red Spring
You're not going to drink it, are you?
[Because... ew.]
no subject
Oh...this? No, I'd heard that the waters have strong healing abilities and I wanted to gather some to analyse it later when I have time. I wouldn't recommend anyone drink water people have bathed in, it could make you quite ill.
[Dolce might notice Ami's black turtle, Genbu sidling up against Dolce's leg under the water.]
no subject
[Dolce reaches down to pick up the turtle! Ghost turtle? Why are all ghosts solid now?! That's too complicated! Anyway... she picks him up, and glances back at Ami.] Is this yours? [No judging, but she's always brusque like that.]
Analyze. Are you also a chemist? [Also.]
no subject
That's incredibly disturbing. [She shudders.]
Oh, Genbu! You shouldn't just sneak up on people like that! I'm sorry, from what I understand, he seems to be my familiar. I think he's just been making sure that I arrive safely to Camelot.
[Genbu completely ignores Ami, preferring instead to withdraw into his shell lazily while Dolce is holding him.]
I'm not a chemist, but I do like science, and I'm studying to be a doctor, so something like this could be extremely useful if it really does have healing properties. If I can analyse its components I may be able to replicate its effects.
You're a chemist? Do you mix your own compounds?
no subject
That's okay, I'm just glad it's not something else. [Puts Genbu back in the water now!]
A doctor?
[Perks up!]
[And then nods.] Ah, yes. I had a chemistry set living with Doctor Jones and Nancy. I'm not sure what to do about it here, they're expensive to replace. Maybe it can be summoned with magic? [Squints.] I'm not an expert or anything. I just make the basic medicines for Dr. Jones' clinic.

Soaking in your arrival
"Ami!"
no subject
"Mamoru...I'm relieved that you're okay. Usagi's been worried sick!" she softly chastised.
She glanced back at the people still coming out of the water and shivered, wrapping her arms around herself.
"Do you know what's happening? Is this another attack or....or have we..." she trailed off.
no subject
"I don't know for sure. I thought since Usako saved us we would be going home and not wherever this is."
no subject
"Which time are you referring to? Was she able to save us after Sailor Jupiter and I fell?"
Were they in some kind of time distortion? Or had she and Jupiter been put in stasis of some kind? That would explain Usagi saving everyone, when the last thing Ami remembered was the attack. Similar things had happened before.

Red Spring - Inn
"Oh, hey! Sorry if I startled you. These rooms are in close proximity so I don't know if it's my door someone's knocking on."
A beat.
"Everything okay?"
no subject
Looking up, embarrassed, she's surprised to note that the person who opened it also has blue hair, although a much more intense colour than her own.
"N..no it was my fault, I'm very sorry." She bows formally in apology.
"I'm just trying to find my room, but the directions weren't the best. I didn't mean to bother you on your way out."
no subject
He pauses.
"Come to think of it...I wonder if it's magic. There seem to be way more rooms than the size of the structure allows..."
He's about to start off on a tangent when he stops himself.
"I can help you try and find your room if you'd like. I'm not really in a hurry. I'm actually moving out."
no subject
She wishes she had time to figure out how to connect her super computer here so she could analyse the building. It didn't feel dangerous, but you could never be too careful.

I'm so sorry Ami please punch him out of the Room
Before loud cawing sound could be heard, following an annoyed sigh, and foot steps--
"Who the hell is--"
The door would swing open, and Ami would be face to face with a certain blond she probably hasn't seen or thought up in what, two, three years?
But to him, it'd only been a minutes, hours? Since he'd seen her--
"You--"
A dark energy warped around his finger tips still holding the door knob, a mix of shock and bitter hatred evident on his face--
OMG I love this
"J..Jadeite?"
The last time she'd seen him was when he'd been destroyed by Rei, the same time Rei had discovered she was Sailor Mars.
That felt like an eternity ago.
She immediately drops into a defensive stance, eyes turning cold. "What are you doing here?"
Arrival A
Right now? She's in an amazing mood after finding Mamoru among the current new arrivals and she gasps excitedly at the sight of Ami there too.
"AMI-CHAAAAN!!"
You bet she's already running towards her and rushing in for a hug. Though she is also kind of half expecting this to be one of her dreams about her loved ones arriving here, but hugging is how she always welcomes them anyway.
no subject
She couldn't bear it if she'd found herself here alone, with the knowledge that she'd left Usagi in the middle of an attack.
"Usagi-chan, you're here as well?...I don't understand what happened?"
no subject
It's a really tight and emotional hug from Usagi's side too. It's been a long time since Usagi saw Ami; all that time between everything back home, a few months in another world before this one and then even more months in this world up until now.
"I'm here, you're here! ...Sorry, I'll explain as well as I can soon but hey, Ami-chan, what's the last thing you remember happening before suddenly being in that water?"
no subject
From Usagi's comments, Ami has the uneasy suspicion there's more going on here that she thinks, and how was Usagi able to explain what was happening?
"We...we were fighting a new enemy. You, me and Mako-chan were on the roof of the school with the Three Lights when the enemy attacked. Mako and I...we got hit...it felt like my body was on fire. And then we both just started disintegrating....."
Ami trails off, not knowing how to continue, but despair and guilt war on her face for failing to protect her princess.
