Does Emet-Selch want to befriend a former king? Regis and Emet seem to get along rather well despite all things considered.

The old man has made a favourable first impression so, yes, possibly! Just don't expect him to go fishing.

No fishing trips?! Oh, fine. Regis knows that fishing isn't everyone's cup of tea.

Mentioning tea, these two should meet up again so they can chat about the wonders of alchemy and sorcery again. Regis has an interesting tale or two to tell Emet, especially after his misadventures with Nero (not FFXIV but DmC Nero).
