Monthly CR & Plotting Meme
It's that time again already! It's time for our current players to plot for the month ahead, get some new CR and chat together about things to come. Go ahead and copy/paste the form below. Or don't. We aren't your parents, we can only make really good suggestions. (Unless...? Nah.)

Character Name: Monika
Canon: Doki Doki Literature Club!
Info: Monika is a sentient video game character with severe trauma, and who thinks all of her troubles will be solved the day she finds love. On the surface though, you won't see any of it. She gives the image of a particularly intelligent eighteen-years old who holds herself with poise and tries to be confident. She's not that good with people so sometimes she can be a little bit awkward or timid, but she's also very friendly and tries her very best to make sure people around her feel comfortable and appreciated. As a general rule, she's doing really great when things are going as planned, and starts doing far worse once things go in totally unexpected ways.
She's a really sweet and kind person who has done horrible and terrible things when she was driven to despair. She can be a bit selfish and her experience as a video game character was basically what can best be described as a living hell. She also knows deep down falling in love won't solve her problems, but it's a nice thing to believe in. She's very good at convincing herself of her own lies when needed.
Magics & Familiar: Kinetic Magic + Technomancy [pink nine-tailed fox]
Desired CR: Monika got a lot of CR and I'd really love to deepen the bonds she has! I love all of that CR and would love to see where it'll lead. Of course, making new friends would be good, too. She may also be ready to open up and say the truth about herself to people she's known for a bit now. You may also see a new side of Monika this month, see below for the amnesiac prompt.
Getting to know her while she's amnesiac would be beautifully terrible, too.
Known Plans: Monika is going to take a temporary amnesia potion, which will leave her amnesiac for one or two weeks. That means she will forget the events of DDLC and her stay in Avalon, only remembering the side stories from DDLC+. Following how terrible August and September have been for her, she is starting to wonder whether she can ever be happy so long as she carries with her the weight of the nightmare she was born in. The existential crisis, the trauma and PTSD, the intense guilt she feels— That's starting to be a bit too much.
Her idea is that erasing her memories of everything ever since her "epiphany" is going to make her happy! So while it'll last, she'll be normal girl again with no worries and no existential crisis. It's a test run to see whether permanently erasing her memories would be a good idea. Of course, it's obviously a bad idea because she won't really be herself any more without all the memories.
So if you'd like to meet amnesiac Monika, lemme know! I'll have a log posted later this month. It may be a very informative experience for people, not so much because of what she'll say, but because of the severe difference with non!amnesiac Monika.
Her youtube show will still be posted on schedule though. Prior to taking the potion, Monika will make sure to have enough episodes pre-recorded and will automate their uploads. Can't risk losing viewers!

Speaking of our thread, ICly Griffin would have texted her to check in a couple of times in the days after she shooed him away from the clinic. OOCly I'm still trying to figure out what happened to October - I blinked and it was gone?? Would she have avoided meeting him again after they parted ways, or could he have talked her into getting coffee or something? Or maybe it took all month for him to talk her into getting coffee and they're finally hanging out now? The sky's the limit.

But I think Monika would have really accepted to talk to him, no avoiding him at all. She would, however, have put on the "confident if only a bit awkward at times" mask. She'd have heavily downplayed what has happened, blaming it on a nervous breakdown resulting from exhaustion and the sudden shift in being in Avalon.
So basically, he can have a pretty good idea of what she's like in Act 1!

But I don't have much going in the way of Poe, beyond maybe setting up a Thanksgiving thread. So if you're interested in her spending more time with him I'd be down for whatever. From helping her avoid complete blue screen of death, to learning the Art of the Influencer.

an internet trolla great influencer! Even amnesiac she should have enough knowhow, just maybe not so direct about it...Speaking of which, I just saw Beo's own CR meme comment and Monika may gift him a copy of Moby Dick. It's amazing how if you replace "whale" with "dragon" and "Ahab" with "Beowulf," it reads like a cautionary tale about obsessing with killing certain things.

It's also funny that you that. I was trying to write up the squad's log post and was going to use a Moby Dick reference:

They share in common, um... Lots of willpower and determination? It's actually rarer than you'd think! I think they'll find something to talk about (once Monika is over "oh no, bunny ears, she's a jrpg character isn't she?")
