It's that time again already! It's time for our current players to plot for the month ahead, get some new CR and chat together about things to come. Go ahead and copy/paste the form below. Or don't. We aren't your parents, we can only make really good suggestions. (Unless...? Nah.)

Character Name: Toshirou Hijikata
Canon: Gintama
Info: He's a mayonnaise-obsessed samurai policeman with a short fuse, from an Edo that was conquered and rapidly modernised by aliens in the 19th century. Gintama is a mix of comedy/parody, action and drama, so he knows how to roll with a lot of mood whiplash!

Magics & Familiar: Elemental/Death & Crow Tengu (Arashi)
Desired CR: I'm always up for anything, but seeing how knights can now appoint squires and deputies Hijikata is game for that!! That said he's already got his hands full with his ghost patrol, so I'll most likely limit his capacities to two squires for the time being. Shoto is first in line since Hijikata already offered to train him, and the other slot will preferentially be given to someone with death magic (to be Hijikata's stand-in with the ghosts). He'll also be going on most knight's quests from next month on and drag his squire(s) or other aspiring knights along for practice!

Known Plans: In terms of TDM prompts I decided to give Hijikata the short end of the stick this time: on the Life Alerts front he'll meet the basilisk and get petrified on the far side of the river (since he's still living across the Bridge of the Pure of Heart), so he won't be able to help search for the cure... but he will be available to be graffiti'd and eventually rescued, if someone wants to smear nimbus flower paste on him. Once the sleep paralysis hits the expedition at night he, who already had plenty of opportunities to face his fears and regrets, will be available to enter people's dreams through the cognitive mages' ritual and try to help them out of their nightmares!

Out of the Going Viral prompts he's slightly less likely to get involved with the lava floor, and to the relief of probably everybody he also won't try to clone his mayonnaise since he already has his bottomless mug supplying him, and he'll be careful to wear a mask once he hears of the flu going around... so once again he's an ideal candidate to help others with their doppelgangers, endlessly multiplying and/or hungry food, and magical sneezes!

On the quest front he's available for the Dragon Quest if anybody is missing a third person! He'll want to slay it, though. After what it's done he's not in the mood for negotiations. Instead of giving out alms he'll set out to kill the fear gorta, taking them for zombies (I'll likely just tag out for this one), and he'll only help with the lettuces if someone asks him to (he's here for more gritty stuff than guarding delicacies)! He'll most likely stay away from this month's dark web quests as well since they either sound like bad news, aren't battle-heavy enough for his skillset, or seem like a lot of work for a dubious quest-giver.

Otherwise I think it's about time something went wrong with Hijikata's ghost patrol, so a few of his spectral subordinates will conspire to replace him as the commander, and some shit will go down... I'm still figuring out the details, but I'm thinking one of them will possess Hijikata and go around acting like a jackass, trying to incite the other ghosts to also possess people and take over (this will ultimately be localised to just one area of Camelot during the night and likely be over come morning).

Other: Gintama had a crossover event with Granblue Fantasy last month; it was really nice from what I saw! Here's Hijikata with his workmate Okita.

Does Hijikata still frequent Riou's old camp at all? I think you said he moved to the old man's house near the pure of heart bridge, but I can't remember what happened to the camp lol.

If he does still use it tho, that might be a great place for Rei and Hijikata to connect beyond their current transactional relationship!! Since it's out of the way (and still booby trapped????) maybe Hijikata makes Rei meet him there for the phone upgrades thinking it'd make him suffer a little (lol) and they can go from there?

He pretty much cleared out of the camp and left it to be used as a storage space in the cold season (though whether anyone is availing of that is left open; maybe NPCs at the most)! He... honestly didn't know how to make a camp winter-ready... he just secured everything as well as he could because he also didn't know how to take down a (probably) military-grade camp... sorry, Riou!!

So he isn't staying there anymore, but we can totally arrange for that meet-up anyway! Despite what Hijikata tells himself, he thinks of the past a lot, so he may give Rei that location to both have their shady dealings out of the way of prying eyes and "just to check if everything's still in good order"... (Riou isn't coming back, Hijikata).

Also yes, it's still booby-trapped.

Waahhh Hijikata 😭😭 But that's Perfect, hell yeah. I can write up a closed starter for that when I make Rei's post then! Hell Yeah /o/

HE'S SENTIMENTAL but ultimately practical enough to focus on the people who are still here (otherwise Riou would surely want to kick him back into gear, too)! And cheers, that's perfect; I'll keep an eye out for it!

Welp Crow's gonna need some help since he'll have the magical flu, and accidentally create monster produce! He's just making up for lost time!

No one has really given a definite answer, so I'm playing it by ear myself. I can see them doing both, but I'll let you decide which prompt speaks to you the best!

Hmm... not exactly killing it, but would he settle for capturing the dragon maybe after beating the crap out of it? She's going to need a third and also isn't of the mind to simply let it go.

He'd be up for that!! He's got no experience fighting dragons, but thanks to a briefing from Darin he kind of knows what to expect and will bring all his big guns in terms of spells etc. Does Belgium have a third (or rather second) party already, then?

Neither does she! So it all pans out and nothing will go wrong at all~! She remembers stories about dragons though. So there's that. And yeah she's roped Maribelle into it.

OMG that's one hell of a trio... Hijikata had a few misadventures with Maribelle already too. Let's do it!! Does either of you guys want to post a starter? Otherwise I can.

I can post it up in a little bit. Maribelle just kind of got dragged into it ICly so there wasn't really much communication OOCly between me and her mun. Which means...! Things are going to pretty much just be done by ear basically~!

But yeah, I'll have a post up later this weekend, probably sometime tonight before bed.

Perfect! I'll keep an eye out for that. To avoid confusion later let's say we'll make the tagging order Belgium => Maribelle => Hijikata (ladies first!). Whether we assume that they run into each other at the mountain or that the ladies demanded that Hijikata come along because knights are supposed to handle stuff like that, I'm good with anything.

Most likely they just kind of run into each other along the way, hears about their NOBLE quest to capture a dragon via drugging it, and decides to tag along? Normally I would prefer to kind of handle these things ICly, but meh.

Haha, that works!! Yeah, having them hash it out IC would've been ideal, but this came at them fast... let's see how they handle it!
