A QUESTION FOR A QUESTION

Your character starts by asking a question, which the other party answers and follows up with their own question. What is a Fifa?

[and a World Cup of what?]

Fédération Internationale de Football Association. It's the organization that oversees all international football matches! The most famous is the world football championships. Teams from all across the globe compete to be crowned the world champions!

Have you... never heard of football before?

I've heard of it? Basketball, too, and baseball, but I'm not really knowledgeable about how they are played. I'm originally from a much simpler place.

Do you play football? Or spectate?

Both! I play and watch. Watching and being part of the crowd is exciting. But playing can also be really fun!

Hm... so what's your home like?

It has been a while since I have been there but... backward, I think by most people's estimation! Simpler, as I say - there was very little chance for people to travel, it simply took too long to do so, save perhaps to our neighbouring countries. So I imagine it would have been quite impossible to organise a World Cup like yours...!

Was your world more... advanced compared to than this one? I'm not sure of that's a strange question, given there's magic...

Hm, in some ways it's the same. But it's also... really different? In all I'd say we're more advanced back home. We didn't really have magic, [unless you listen to any of the nations that believe in it] and while this place has some things similar to home I might argue we do it... better? In a way at least.

Hm, since we're talking about home, what is your favorite thing to do from yours?

[a gentle chuckle] Indeed...?

Oh- the house I lived in had beautiful gardens. I was practically raised in them, until I was old enough to be given other tasks. But I was still often to be found there, when my free time allowed.

Would you tell me some sort of landmark from your home? If I were to visit, where would you send me first?

It must have been quite a beautiful house!

[She smiled in return.]

Oh, but there are so many! But I suppose the number one spot would have to be either La Grand Place, or the Manneken Pis. Both of them are in the city of Brussels and not too far from each other. The former is a large market square, surrounded by old guild halls and luxurious edifices. It's filled to the brim with coffeehouses, restaurants, shops, pubs and all sorts of things! Along with the city's museum. The latter is a replica statue of a little boy peeing into a fountain basin. Everybody likes to dress it up in various outfits and props and hang around it.

Favorite place to visit on Avalon?

That sounds fascinating...! And the museum would be an ideal place to learn more of your home!

I risk repeating myself but I favour anywhere with a garden, or even anywhere that things grow wild. I was in another world before this one - one other than my own, I should say - where everything was... awfully modern, to the extent that I didn't always understand, sometimes. But there was nothing to grow - nothing could grow. So I have missed gardening terribly.

Was your home in this city, Brussels, or some other part of your country?

The museum and the food. You can't go visiting without trying anything local! Once you do most of everything.else that's not Belgian just won't taste right.

Ah, that's fine. [She smiled, soft and warm at that.] I've been to places... lived through moments where nothing could grow either. Nothing but maybe poppies. Gardens are quite lovely and a fine thing to treasure and hold dear.

Oh, but yes! My main property is located in my capital, Burssels. I've got a few other places as well! I have to travel a lot you see, so it's nice to have something comforting and familiar to live in while I'm away.

Hm... what would you say your favorite setup for a meal is?
