Oh! Mankai Company is... ( she catches herself. it's not her dad's any more, is it? ) — my theatre company. And the Fleur Award is the top award for theatre troupes at home.

Athens was always the centre of theatrical greatness, not Macedon. However, that too was part of my empire, and Athenian actors part of my court. It brought me great joy to witness the gripping stories of both the tragedies and comedies.

Do you know Euripides? I can still recite a scene from one of his plays by heart!

I've heard of it? Basketball, too, and baseball, but I'm not really knowledgeable about how they are played. I'm originally from a much simpler place.

Do you play football? Or spectate?

Both! I play and watch. Watching and being part of the crowd is exciting. But playing can also be really fun!

Hm... so what's your home like?

I guess you could say it is. Not really magical, but it is kind of like a wish that many athletes wish for.

Did the world you came from have more magic, or more technology - or neither?

It has been a while since I have been there but... backward, I think by most people's estimation! Simpler, as I say - there was very little chance for people to travel, it simply took too long to do so, save perhaps to our neighbouring countries. So I imagine it would have been quite impossible to organise a World Cup like yours...!

Was your world more... advanced compared to than this one? I'm not sure of that's a strange question, given there's magic...

Hm, in some ways it's the same. But it's also... really different? In all I'd say we're more advanced back home. We didn't really have magic, [unless you listen to any of the nations that believe in it] and while this place has some things similar to home I might argue we do it... better? In a way at least.

Oh- the house I lived in had beautiful gardens. I was practically raised in them, until I was old enough to be given other tasks. But I was still often to be found there, when my free time allowed.

Would you tell me some sort of landmark from your home? If I were to visit, where would you send me first?

It truly does - I think I have learned a good deal, but sometimes the one seems very much like the other to me! I confess it is still a little difficult to pick favourites, but the communication devices are fascinating to me; that one is able to receive a reply instantaneously...!

It feels lazy to return your question - and I understand that for many technologies more a convenience than a novelty but-- have you a favourite piece of technology yourself? Is it common to pick a favourite convenience...?

It must have been quite a beautiful house!

Oh, but there are so many! But I suppose the number one spot would have to be either La Grand Place, or the Manneken Pis. Both of them are in the city of Brussels and not too far from each other. The former is a large market square, surrounded by old guild halls and luxurious edifices. It's filled to the brim with coffeehouses, restaurants, shops, pubs and all sorts of things! Along with the city's museum. The latter is a replica statue of a little boy peeing into a fountain basin. Everybody likes to dress it up in various outfits and props and hang around it.

Favorite place to visit on Avalon?

Phones are pretty awesome aren't they? And, I guess to be kind of honest, I'm gonna answer the same. I spend most of my time at sea, sometimes by myself. So havin' somethin' that can let you connect with others instantly is more than just a little magical. So, yeah, I gotta kind of agree with you on that one. Also, yeah I'd probably say it's pretty common.

Is it not all that common to have a favorite piece of tech or item where you're from?

That sounds fascinating...! And the museum would be an ideal place to learn more of your home!

I risk repeating myself but I favour anywhere with a garden, or even anywhere that things grow wild. I was in another world before this one - one other than my own, I should say - where everything was... awfully modern, to the extent that I didn't always understand, sometimes. But there was nothing to grow - nothing could grow. So I have missed gardening terribly.

Was your home in this city, Brussels, or some other part of your country?

We have no "tech" where I am from - where I am originally from. I was in another place before this one that was extremely... advanced? I fear this isn't the right word to capture just how far beyond my understanding it all was. The first time someone tried to show me to an elevator I was convinced he was sending me into a closet as a practical joke!

Were you a sailor, then, before you came here? Do you miss the sea?

I apologise, that was two questions twice in a row - I'm not sure if that is against the rules...

Gotcha! I suppose a lot of it can be kinda jarring the first time you see most of it... still, you don't have anything like electricity back at your place...

Oh, but don't worry about it! I don't mind answering a two-for. And if it is against some unspoken rule... well sometimes rules are meant to be broken. [She gave him a grin in return. Before stopping to think his question over a bit. It was a few moments before Cleve answered.]

But yeah... something like that. I was part of the Navy back home. And... well the sea can get real lonely, cold, and harsh but... it's also peaceful, free, and relaxing and comfortable in its own way. Somewhere you can roam along and be able to see most of the whole world. Sooo... yeah, I miss it. I miss it a lot in ways I can't really describe properly....

You ever get to see the ocean?

The museum and the food. You can't go visiting without trying anything local! Once you do most of everything.else that's not Belgian just won't taste right.

Ah, that's fine. [She smiled, soft and warm at that.] I've been to places... lived through moments where nothing could grow either. Nothing but maybe poppies. Gardens are quite lovely and a fine thing to treasure and hold dear.

Oh, but yes! My main property is located in my capital, Burssels. I've got a few other places as well! I have to travel a lot you see, so it's nice to have something comforting and familiar to live in while I'm away.

Hm... what would you say your favorite setup for a meal is?

The Navy, heavens...! That must have made for an eventful living! My country was landlocked, so I never really had the chance to see the ocean until I found myself elsewhere. Even then, there was a lot of... unpleasantness around it all many of the times that I was there. But there was never much chance to actually sail...

When you were back on land, what were your favourite things to do, in your world?

Mm, it can get real eventful at times. And really boring at others. Still, being stuck on land though, that's something I can't imagine. [For more than one reason.] Hm... oh! But whenever I got shoreside I'd usually spend sometime in my quarters relaxing and catching up on recent news. I'd also go and play a few sports with some of the others on base to blow off some steam and stay in top shape... what else... hm, I also really liked to go to the movies, or explore wherever I might be if I'm not at my home docks.

When you're stuck in the middle of the ocean for weeks or months at a time you usually kind of like to start catching up and doing things that you weren't able to.

So... would you like to go out onto the ocean sometime? Without anything unpleasant happening, of course! Not that I'd think there'd be anything unpleasant.
