So, Caster kinda started off as a cute girl who was a fun, if not incredibly threatening, good time. Kate was fully prepared to just consider her a casual acquaintance and FWB but then she had to, like, go and start being endearing?

Fuck. Now Kate has to have an actual friend. This is The Worst.

But seriously, Kate finds herself giving a crap about Caster in her own sorta way. She thinks Caster is a lot softer than she wants people to believe and she can relate to that whether she wants to admit it or not.

Also, y'know, Caster always be thirsty and she appreciates the distraction. And the free booze.

She likes Louis in that "neither of them pry into the other one's shit" way. He's competent, blunt and doesn't make things uncomfortable. It's nice to have that comfort zone he provides because there are so many occasions here in Avalon where she seems to end up dragged out of it and sometimes you just want to chill, drink good booze, and not ask questions about why they're drinking.

She might, sometimes, like to know him more personally, but she also understands that part of their friendship contract is the Not Asking Questions and she'd like to keep it that way for now.

JJ is a weird presence for her because he is SO much like what she could have been if her life hadn't gone completely to shit. So she's always a little bit jealous of his good fortune, aware of the similarities that exist to the girl she was when she was younger.

But then, because of that, it's also... nice to have him around. Someone who reminds her of simpler times and enjoys a good competition. It also helps that he'll just talk and talk and she can just sit there and be distracted from her thoughts without having to really do anything to achieve that. (':

god it never ceases to make me laugh that Rei is somehow her most uncomplicated friend for now /stares at Kate's own parent issues. They know each other more than either of them would care to, really, but she actually finds she doesn't mind that so much now? Again, the fact that she will never see him again after Avalon (as far as any of us know) kinda helps there. he manages to be surprisingly insightful and legit with his advice and she enjoys bantering with/dragging him. But despite all the dragging, she respects (IK... IK........) and cares about him a great deal. She wasn't kidding when she said she'd rather forget him than have to miss him post-Avalon. ;;

They're both held over the explosive barrel of unfortunate Lore Deets via the fear cave which is... nervous laughter. Very Much gonna be ignored for as long as possible on Kate's part because she happens to like their conversations and doesn't want them to get bogged down in Sad Shit if it doesn't have to be.
