As familiars are a big part of our game, I wanted to give everyone a chance to talk about their familiars and maybe even find some fun familiar CR going on~! Here is a nice little form you can fill out or you can just do whatever you want for replies too, I won't judge!

Personality: Mischievous and playful, but put upon whenever Noctis is lazy instead of training. They also like to beg treats from NPCs and PCs.
Can they talk: Only to Noctis! From the outside, it just looks like Noctis is tilting his head to listen to something.

Personality: Regal, graceful, aloof. She's kind and forgiving, but also has the air of someone who is so on another level that interacting with plebs is beneath her.
Can they talk: Only to Corwin, and only telepathically. She doesn't speak unless she's spoken to, and prefers to communicate via body language instead.

Name: he doesn't actually have a name for it and tends to just refer to it as "fox"
Species: kuda-gitsune
Special features: eyes are always closed like a typical kitsune but when eyes are open they are pitch black sclera with red pupils. has front paws but not back paws, so it kind of wiggles/floats around like a ghost sometimes. when it's happy/calm, it chitters like a weasel, however when it's angry it'll screech like a fox
Personality: Very friendly with Rosho but overly-protective a lot of the time. Doesn't really mind when you talk to Rosho but will INTENTLY WATCH like a guard dog. Also super mischievous, likes to appear and disappear in a poof of smoke. Basically if you've seen videos of ferrets zipping and zooming around, that's what Rosho's kuda-gitsune is like.

It also hates Rosho's boyfriend, Sasara. :(

Personality: Cheerful, outgoing, and playful little bundle of joy who likes befriending and cuddling people and getting pet, eats her veggies and berries, and sometimes gets nervous when things go scary. She is also very brave even when things get tough, though it might take a while for her to get over her nerves. Very affectionate and loyal towards her master like an adorable little puppy or kitty.
Can they talk: Nope, but she is sentient and knows how to emote her feelings, emotions, and thoughts through body language and squeaks.

Name: She never bothered to name it. She's still not sure others can see it.
Species: Grudge Spirit.
Special features: It can multiply, sense anger, hold people in place, attack people (see permissions), but it withers in the face of things like real love and joy. It can also create an aura of malice, hate, or anger around Kyoko and sometimes manifests as darkness around her.
Personality: Vengeful, mischievous, mistrusting. Loves the sensation of anger.
Can they talk: ISH. It cackles which can often be heard, and occasionally simple single words like hate and revenge can be made out. When it divides the copies can speak to each other. So far it has not tried to speak to Kyoko and she has not tried to speak to it.

Species: Hou-ou! Occasionally referred to as a "japanese(/chinese) phoenix," but doesnt actually have relation to the Western phoenix aside from being Large Bird
Special features: large :) sparkly :) she's varying shades of gold (instead of multicolored like the usual hou-ou) bc she's styled to match Rei's canon hou-ou imagery.
Personality: Very proud of herself and of Rei. Enjoys looking imposing and regal, which is very easy when she sits on his 6'2'' shoulder. However, she dotes on Rei like a mother hen, which can ruin both her AND his image when she starts preening him........
She's also a bit prissy and doesn't like to get dirty. But if you praise her for her looks, she'll warm up to you very quickly.
Can they talk: Nope!

Special features: Instead of a big fiery phoenix, this one is a fluffy pigeon sized one. He can still carry Archer in case of emergencies.
Personality: The Phoenix is very tame and really closer to a pigeon rather than a phoenix, usually. He likes asking for treats with the look in his eyes and sometimes sit on people's heads. Archer's shoulder is his favorite place to nap though.
Can they talk: Only to Archer, via telepathy.

Special features: Just a regular looking lynx, who can jump ridiculously high and see through things.
Personality: Rafael is more closer to a affectionate house cat than a wild cat whenever it's peaceful. He enjoys hanging out around Jean and Mikasa when he doesn't have shit to do and isn't worried about Jean's training at all. If angered or Jean is in danger he'll be more like a dangerous wild cat.
Can they talk: Yes. Others can also hear him talk.

Personality: As a fox, Princess is very shy and withdrawn. She likes to stick close to Ren or somewhere away from sight. As a fairy lady, however, she gains more confidence and talks with anyone and acts almost as charming as Ren does. She's quick to go back to being a shy fox though.
Can they talk: She can't talk in fox form, but as a fairy talks to anyone.

Species: Saber-tooth moose lion cub
Special features: The species is a mix between a saber-tooth lion and a moose.
Personality: Foo Foo is an outspoken and very rude familiar who pushes Sokka to train harder and judges him whenever Sokka is being lazy. Though he is quite the hypocrite since sometimes he's lazy enough to make sure everyone can hear him talking which makes Sokka seem like he's talking to himself more often than not. Likes to hang out on Sokka's head whenever he's around. Also has a hint of mischievous personality still hidden from Sokka.
Can they talk: Yes and he can alternate to talking with only Sokka when he's lazy.

Name: Tonitrus The Fierce (Regis named it after one of his ancestors.)
Species: Quetzalcoatl("feathered serpent" or "plumed serpent")
Special features: Tonitrus is a blue scaly serpent with reddish feathers and big blue webbed fins. He's a bit scary looking since Tonitrus is actually a beast-type creature in FFXV rather than the yellow bird-like summon from FFVIII.

Its eyes tend to glow to whatever corresponding element its casting at the time.(i.e: Tonitrus eyes glow red when casting fire or glow purple when casting lightning.) Tonitrus also does this whenever Regis is casting because of its mimicry technique.

Personality: Tonitrus is as grumpy as they come, especially since the moody thunderbird doesn't like people. For the most part, the stoic serpent merely tolerates humans but seems to enjoy meeting other familiars like it. That's why Tonitrus seems very combative towards anyone who's not Regis. It seems to detest humans but no one knows why. Might have something to do with misadventures from a past life lol However, the mean birdie can be won over with food and snacks. It's known for stealing whatever food Regis makes and seems to prefer baked goods like breakfast pastries and cupcakes.

Can they talk: Yes, but it ironically chooses not to speak in front of others. Tonitrus pretends like it can't talk but it can. However, the creature has grown so used to mimicking Regis thanks to their strong bond. So much like a parrot, it tends to mimic the old king's tone and voice perfectly. Otherwise, Tonitrus only speaks to Regis telepathically.

Species: Barghest
Special features: Glowing coal-red eyes and a somewhat wispy appearance when he runs. He's about the size of a Irish Wolfhound.
Personality: The Dog is generally a dopey, friendly, loyal familiar. He's big, cuddly, and surprisingly gentle with people that Claire likes or has a positive opinion towards. He's a bit more menacing towards people she's taken a dislike to, or to people who show hostility towards her or Sherry.
Can they talk: Yes, and Yes.

Can they talk: Larry can sometimes telepathically transmit single words and understands a great deal, but rarely speaks.

Special features: Glowing orange eyes. His wingspan is 6'0" wide. Despite being a spirit he is capable of making his weight known and not known as well as his talons (his weight and talons are usually not known when he's chilling on Aurora's shoulder).
Personality: Incredibly protective of Princess Aurora. He's always going to be by her side no matter what. He is incredibly smart. He's very severe and serious but he loves Aurora and has no issue biting, clawing, or attacking in some manner should you try and hurt his girl.
Can they talk: He can talk to Aurora, he's not bothered talking to anyone else but her, he's not impressed by anyone else yet.

Special features: He looks like he grins on more than one occasion. He is also big and fat.
Personality: He is a very lazy cat as all cats are. However, he's a massive snuggler to Alice, constantly wanting to be in her laps, arms, or shoulders (the latter being a bit hard because he's bigger than her tiny shoulders allow). He sleeps a good deal but where Alice goes, he tends to follow because he knows his girl often ends up in trouble. Basil gets jealous when Alice pays attention to other familiars, very much of the opinion he's the only one that should matter to her.
Can they talk: He can but he has not bothered to and just conveys his thoughts on matters through usual cat behavior. Alice is aware he can talk, however.

Personality: Yoshiha is a prankster, just as bad as Hikaru even if he denies it. She's always finding ways to trick somebody and particularly loves to transform into a cute girl to lure people in before scaring them. A complete and total brat. Yoshiha is a Hitachiin woman through and through.
Can they talk: I imagine that she can but she purposely chooses to stay quiet because she won't give anybody the satisfaction of understanding her.

Special features: Appears as a dark back horse with glowing green eyes and a long flowing mane.
Personality: Pure mischief. The Pooka roams the countryside at night looking for trouble to cause. He won't do you any physical harm but he might offer to take you on a ride which if you agree will be nightmarish and wild, leaving you exhausted if you manage to stay on for the whole thing. Only for serious situations and if it happens to be funny will he give some one a gentle ride.
Can they talk: No but he can get his point across.

Special features: Since a literal planet-sized familiar would be too big for the game, this one is roughly the size of a melon. Otherwise... it's a jagged ball of rock, rolling around like a funny little katamari. It might start shedding microscopic energy crystals at some point.
Personality: Quiet and serious. Kind of hard to tell if it's a wise, zen creature, or if it's just napping most of the time.
Can they talk: Only via telepathy... which is actually fairly appropriate to teach cognitive magic, isn't it?

Species: Hellhound
Special features: She's a big doggo! Her size fluctuates - at base, her shoulders are at the same level as Mukuro's when on all-fours, but she can seem even bigger when skulking around in the darkness. Also, her movement is almost completely silent.
Personality: Stoic, quiet and loyal - much like Mukuro herself. She's in sync with her pact-bound most of the time. Fenrir dislikes busy, crowded places, so doesn't usually follow Mukuro into the city proper.
Can they talk: No, however Fenrir and Mukuro can sense each other's thoughts and feelings, and 'communicate' in that sense.

Name: Unnamed thus far, Caster calls it 'the little one'.
Species: Skeletal dragon
Special features: It's a house cat sized skeleton dragon, with a purplish energy in its chest and skull. It can't fly, but it can run quite quickly. It could probably get a lot larger if Caster was very emotionally strained.
Personality: Has the personality of a friendly, hyper puppy. Very extroverted and excited to meet new people, and eager to please it's pact-bound. Caster regularly jokes about removing it's teeth for ritual components, it doesn't like that. :(
Can they talk: Maybe! Not as far as she's aware. But it makes baby crocodile noises when it's excited.

Special features: It looks like any regular, if slightly large, cat at first glance; tricolor, though predominantly white and red. Usually asleep or at least in some state of relaxation you don't see its oddly shaped pupils and the split tail might not attract much attention when it's not swishing it back and forth.
Personality: Lazy...also likes to get drunk. Maybe it'll watch its surroundings with one eye open... or both eyes closed, just like its master.
Can they talk: Bakeneko have the ability to talk, but so far Sasara's hasn't shown whether it can or will 🤔

Special features: he has longer whiskers than the normal cat, orange cat with brown stripes but a star design on his right leg, and his eyes shine brightly at night that he could lead the way home
Personality: A calm, friendly cat who will watch someone and how they are around Haruki before making a judgement on them. Rarely leaves Haruki's side and always watching when someone is near him. He does like Haruki's husband, Aki, and his band mates Uenoyama and Mafuyu.
Can they talk: No, he can't talk, though Haruki can understand him.

Species: Geryon (yeah... he was creative at naming)
Special features: Flaming blue mane and reins, but cold-blooded like a lizard. The flames are harmless to anyone Geryon deems friendly.
Personality: Bad-tempered, proud, and very, very difficult to tame. Nero butts heads with Geryon a lot, but they're way more similar than he'd like to admit.
Can they talk: nope! Just horrible demonic horse noises.

Name: Kicchi (Kichiha 吉葉). The full name came later, Kaoru calling her Kicchi is basically like just calling her "Foxy" until Hikaru arrived. It matches with Hikaru's Yoshiha (吉葉). Yep. Same kanji.
Species: Nine-tailed fox.
Special features: Majestic floof of many tails.
Personality: She can bounce off the walls like the best of foxes, but mostly she will stick close to Kaoru, if he needs her. She is the more chill of the two familiars and is the absolute best bed buddy, but will be fiercely protective of both twins.
Can they talk: No, but she's game to communicate?
