Your resident casanova wannabe and jack of all trades, Paladin of the Red Lion (it used to be Blue, HOW COULD YOU BLUE?) and I am technically still deciding exactly where to take him from. He’s the resident sharpshooter as well, he has a bit of a green thumb and can even take care of a cow while on a space ship (Kaltenecker you are a national treasure)! When I say jack of all trades, Lance is your man. I’ll likely give him elemental and green magic because of the above but I’m also open to possibly changing that if anyone has any suggestions.

That being said, my usual MO is that I take my characters from the end of their respective canons but I know S8 has uh......... issues. To say the least. Aside from cool Altean marks that Lance gets, I’m not exactly fond of anything else and I know given what happens at the end that is spoilery, I don’t want to put anyone in any awkward positions either if they’d prefer him not to be that far ahead! (Note: I’ll never take him from the actual epilogue, it’d be just before that if that helps anything). So! I’m also open to suggestions as well if so!

Hey~! Welcome! We have a cast from all over the timeline, so picking where your from shouldn't be too much of an issue, if you're worried about that.

Shiro's from the end of Episode 1 of season 7, plus some CRAU, and has Elemental and Kinetic magic, though since he only got here two months ago and spent most of April sick as a space dog, he hasn't exactly mastered either of them yet.

But that’s good to know about the timelines! I guess it’s figuring out how Lance will react seeing a certain someone again lol But I’m sure we can work it out. I’m open to anything really.

I know Matt Holt is currently from somewhere in the middle of his rebel officer period, and Keith has both Kosmo and his Plot Important Facial Burn Scar... And Allura is actually the person furthest back down the timeline right now, I'm pretty sure. Not 100% on where Pidge's timeline matches up just yet.

I'm so excited at the prospect of playing with a Lance! I haven't had much chance to do that yet. We didn't have much of a cast at Synodiporia, my game prior to this one.

Okay! Then, I’ll probably just stick to end of S8 (pre-epilogue) and just see how that goes. I’d heard about Syn since I had a friend there but never quite checked it out myself. I’m glad you’re getting a cast now though! It’s always fun when you got one tbh although I’ve LCW’d myself a few times and that can always lead to interesting CR as well.

Yeah, I've had a good time playing LCWs. I was the sole FMA cast member in my first and second games, then added a movie character from a little known animated film. And then I played a character from a book, before Shiro took up residence. It's always interesting to see how cross-canon relationships are going to work out! But it's really nice to have a cast. ;w; This team is so good.

I had the most random and sweet romances come out of one of my LCW adventures haha. It was great and the player and I continued it via PSL.

I’m excited now! I’ll see about getting Lance’s account paid for May so he can have access to his icons again lmao And maybe spruce up the journal. I actually started a rewatch of the series too, I’d only seen it once before but binging the whole thing would be neat to see it play out all together now. Especially since I’d been hesitant on playing Lance for awhile, but maybe just being impulsive will work out this time haha! uwu!

Pidge is post season 6!

Personally, I'm cool with you playing him from whenever you want to play him. Keith here is actually from episode one of season eight, but I'd been debating updating him. That said, though, the whole cast is from different points in canon, with Pidge and Shiro being the closest, but Shiro is a CRAU with 4 years of another game between canon and here, so none of us match, and that's a-okay! Whatever you're most comfortable with!

Shiro just can’t catch a break, can he? lol

But that’s good to know! I just worry because I know wild of a ride Voltron got to be so I’d rather not make it super awkward or anything if I can help it. But I’d also like to work with it too since it’s still a neat canon point imo.

But question, is Cosmos with Keith? SPACE DOGGE

Of course, Kosmo's here! Keith would likely be a wreck without him. LOL. He also came in as Keith's pet instead of his familiar, so he's free to hang with anyone as teleporting cosmic wolves are wont to do. Haha!

I just realized my phone butchered Kosmo’s name pfft. Sorry, boy. But I’m glad! Everyone deserves to pet the Good Boy. Ngl if it hasn’t happened yet, I’m tempted to have Lance arrive with Kaltenecker.

OMG that would be amazing (the Lance I play with in another game has Kaltenecker, and she's the best)

That said, there is a system in place where the team can regain their lions as mini robot pets (cough) and Pidge arrived with Green in that capacity... I was thinking of having Keith regain the Black Lion at some point, since both he and Shiro are past that canon point.

Kaltenecker is a treasure and must always be cherished. ~~also ice cream~~

Oh no, mini lions how adorable!! Regaining red or blue would be cool and sweet.

Timeline strangeness is not a problem. Matt's from his ass-teroid sitting period (before Pidge found him), so he's one of the furthest back in the timeline.

As everyone else says, we'd love to have Lance, so consider this additional encouragement!

Oh, and also, Matt has Bae Bae, the Holt family dog, so be prepared to get sniffed a lot, Lance.

I, as a mun, absolutely love timeline variances. I honestly think that it creates some amazing possibilities.

And really... you will never convince Matt Holt that the future is set in stone. Boy believes in alternate universes like crazy. (And is still mad at his sister for going to one without him.)

Can someone explain to Lance how there’s apparently not an infinite amount of AUs because comic books told him there was and given what Honerva did, he’s still confused. XD

First off, I really want to thank you for asking about this. Not just because season 8 is... such a thing, but because I appreciate that you're being mindful of the rest of the cast. Definitely a good note to be starting out on!

I'm playing Allura from further back than the other paladins -- she's from end of Season 4, because letting her pick up Altean Alchemy and then taking it away seemed very cruel. I will also be upfront and let you know that I have other plans re: shipping, just in case you're not interested in playing out the drama of him loving and then losing Allura. On the other hand, I do want to play with themes of fighting predetermination, and if you're game, then there's a lot that late canon Lance could actually do to play into that.

I hope this helps and that I'm not making this too difficult!

Yeah, Allura was the big factor of "Would this be okay?" since I wasn’t sure what her canon point was and the last thing I wanna do is make anyone feel forced to play out something that was canon and all that jazz if it wasn’t something they were interested in.

Re:shipping, I actually wouldn’t mind working it out with S8 Lance and S4 Allura! He had already been prepared once to let her go as long as she was happy and since he’ll find out soon enough that she’s from well before he was even a blip on her proverbial love radar, then I think he’ll be able to move on as long as he knows she’ll be happy with whomever you got plans with! I’d rather not derail anything you got going to playing out the potential drama and such would be interesting! I generally don’t have a preferred ship one way or another anyway and refuse to believe he didn’t move on after the S8 drama! It’ll be tough but I think we can make it work without it getting too dramatic lol I’d adore them still being friends and her giving him a hard time and all so c:

Playing with predetermination and such would definitely be super cool too. And no you’re not making it difficult at all! Honestly I’m the one worried about making it difficult given what Voltron gives us to work with ahaha.

Also I keep reading your username as "patricide" and I know it’s just a play in words but I keep sitting here like WHY DID ALLURA KILL HER DAD??? even though I know she didn’t lmao 😂

she kinda did, though, when she had to patch her digital-dad out of existence, thus setting a precedent of her making big painful sacrifices just to show how ~*strong*~ she is

... I've honestly considered getting a new one, since there's so much more material to work with now, but I've never been able to settle on one I like. That being said, calling Lance icy-hot is perfection.

And I'm loving the sound of this already. Because yes, I absolutely want to keep playing out their friendship — a lot of their fun dynamics seemed to get up and forgotten when the writers decided "okay well they're going to make goo-goo eyes at each other now, we gotta get that sad dramatic ending no one wants".

You know I completely forgot about that, see this is why my rewatch binge is gonna be a good thing LOL!

Ahaha thank you! ngl I wish I was that clever but I honestly got it from watching one of the My Hero Academia movies (the only MHA media I’ve ever consumed on behest of a friend lol) and Bakugou calling Todoroki icy-hot due to his powers came back to me when trying to pick a journal name for Lance.

Yaaasss!! I’m always here for friendship shenanigans. I love my ships but playing out friendships is always fun. I hope they can get into trouble (Lance’s fault, no doubt).

Aah, that's right, I did see that movie! And I believe we even have a Todoroki in the game, so we'll have twice the icy-hots.

By the way, I almost missed it up-thread, but Allura does have Blue with her. Already planning to lead off the TDM thread with that reunion.

Honestly, I'm very relieved to hear it. I'm usually all about shipping, but for Voltron I found myself way more into their found family dynamics. And I know how big shipping is for some of the fans, you know?

Everyone else has already chimed in about not minding when you take Lance from, so I'll just say 'ditto' to all that. Pidge is from post 6, and while I probably won't canon update her she will want to know what happens in the future because she can't not know.

That said, I see you're thinking about Green magic and Pidge would love to have someone join her in her time of suffering. She has green magic too and is super jealous of Matt being able to talk to tech.
