TEST DRIVE MEME ⚔️️ 2
![]() Premise ⚔️️ Rules ⚔️️ FAQ ⚔️️ Taken ⚔️️ Reserves ⚔️️ Apply ⚔️️ Locations ⚔️️ Bestiary ![]() A ⦿ Soaking in Your Arrival
Regardless of what you were in the middle of, you and your familiar have been magically pulled into the world of Avalon just above the Bay's chilly waters. After a brief plunge into the Bay, the rush of water filling your ears and soaking up into every creak and crevice of your body, you may need to cough to clear your airways when you rise above the surface. It's paralyzingly cold for a few seconds before you're approached by the Lady of the Lake beneath the water's surface. She puts a vial of a vibrant, glowing red Everwarm* potion to your character's lips. The icy water doesn't feel so icy once consumed and you'll be able to move your limbs enough to swim to shore on your own. She can't stick around to explain, she's got to get this to all the new arrivals! Many of which you'll see plopping in around you. If you can't swim, a handful of helpful ice turtles will scoop you up from beneath and drop you off at the shore. When not helping people, the turtles are going around and hitting the ice that keeps forming on the surface with their shells to keep the surface open for the falling arrivals or pushing personal items to the beach near the new arrivals they smell like (belong to). If anyone tries to ask the Lady of the Lake for directions, she will direct you to Archimedes at the Rent-a-Ride. If anyone with Animal Magic asks the turtles, they will give the full spiel, but very slowly, and they like to get off topic and gossip about other turtles you've never heard of. The shores themselves are littered with new arrivals complaining their way up a staircase carved into the walls of the White Cliffs. There is no railing, so be careful, but if you do fall, be prepared for a mysterious sand hand to reach out of the side of the cliffs to catch you. The hand will pat you atop the head twice before retreating back into the wall. This is the Cliff Beast; despite the name, he is quite friendly. B ⦿ The Caravan to Camelot
These carriages use fae technology that combats weight, so your character will be able to get in regardless of whether they're light as a feather or weigh two tons. The carts have air conditioning when it's hot, heating when it's cold, and a mystical shield to protect from bugs. There is also a mini-bar that pops out of the console with nip bottles. Characters can use their smartphones to connect to Camelot's internet service, C ⦿ The Red Spring
If you don't want to relax in the room, try taking a dip in the spring for another chance to meet your fellow travelers. The waters have restorative properties that help horses and travelers recover quickly when drunk. It is known to relieve stress, improve energy levels, and mildly accelerate healing. It may be a little chilly when you get out though, so make sure you don't slip rushing back indoors when you get out! The springs are also home to a large training grounds just outside town limits, where there are teachers who will teach basic magic safety and help you discover what kind of magic you have together with other new arrivals. Try target practice, obstacle courses, meditation circles, and other ways to try to figure out just what you can do... if you didn't already have an accidental discovery on the ride there. ![]() A ⦿ Trial and Icy Errors Winter has arrived in Avalon, and with it has come to a change in the weather. Puffs of breath precede sentences when outside, small fires fill braziers to allow people to stop and get warm for a moment between where they come from and where they are going. Snow has begun to fall; at first, it is the same, fluffy, white flakes many adventurers will have seen. However, as the day progresses, the snow begins to shimmer; it’s like a prismatic effect, a magical light catching against every little crystal and illuminating sparkling flakes, so vibrant it’s clear someone has enchanted the snow. Shortly after the change, there will be a text alert to all devices: Tired of the same old routine with your magic? Ready for a little something new? Come on out and have an old fashioned snowball fight with a magical twist. Be sure to practice your new powers and have fun! 😉 -MerlinThose who come outside to find the rainbow snow already being packed into neat balls by Camelot's citizens; go ahead and grab a basket full but remember, don’t just toss them. Let’s get magic with it! Different types of magic will have different effects on the enchanted snow: In the end, it seems while adventurers will be able to get plenty of practice in, some of that practice is going to come from trying to stop the side effects of mixing their powers with the magic snow; welcome to your first lesson in control. If one is going to use magic in conjunction with already magically imbued things, they ought to know the right amount, seems Merlin wants you all to learn in a trial by snowball error. Those who practice their magic and participate in the snowball fight will be given hot chocolate, warm soup, fresh baked goods, or other treats to warm them up after their training is done. But don’t slack off! You’re like to find your hot chocolate spiced with pickle flavor, that warm treat suddenly turns to ice cream in your mouth. Avalonians want that practice to happen, and are willing to add some incentive... whether that means the carrot or the icicle. ![]() All throughout the City of Camelot is a buzz of excitement about the oncoming winter solstice on the 21st. Citizens will tell you of the winter solstice's importance in cleansing the flow of Avalon's magic each year and absorbing sunlight to increase its potency. In other words, the winter solstice generates a significant amount of magic if the proper ritual is followed, so the visitors from other worlds really should head on over to Albion's White Cliffs. A ⦿ The Darkness in the White Cliffs
Once you gain entrance, you will find there is no light within the caves and the door seems to close behind you. Non-magical lights won't illuminate anything within these caves, so you will need to either navigate through the darkness or find a magical means to light your path. Be wary-- traveling in the dark will be a much safer journey if you can find your way through the caves and keep track of your companions. The reason there is no light are the bat-like creatures that eat energy like fire and electricity. With the magical light attracting them and nothing to consume, they'll be very aggressive and swarm anything emitting heat.. like an unsuspecting traveler. Make too much noise, and the Cliff Beast will spit you out back onto the sand and you'll have to start over. B ⦿ "For a greedy man, even his tomb is too small."
There is no clear warning about what will happen if you take anything besides your one cup. However, characters who disobey this instruction and take any of the riches within the cave will initially experience severe symptoms such as magical blockage, an endless common cold, and food turning to ash in their mouth. They will experience dreams in which they are urged to return the treasure and a day later, advanced symptoms if it goes on for too long have been known to result in vomiting frogs and snakes, insomnia, speaking in tongues despite the translation spell, bleeding from the ears, and eventually death. C ⦿ Drink Up
Upon arriving at the Red Springs, a party of people there to guide those who have made the ritual's journey to a particular pool within the vicinity of the springs. Characters will be directed to take a sip, then pour the rest into the Spring alongside your peers, finally throwing the clay cup itself into the spring. Throughout the day, you will begin to feel strangely giddy, but it will pass. Nothing much will seem like it happens otherwise, but the guides assure you that you will understand on the night of the winter solstice when the ritual is complete and your body becomes a conduit to purify and rejuvenate Avalon's magic. For now, as thanks, the guides offer you one of the celebratory gifts they have to offer-- free drinks (this time of the age-appropriate alcoholic or sugary variety), a free night's stay at the Red Springs, a yule log, an escort, a Recipe: Snow Dance. (Effect: Snow Dance will cause small flurries to pick up where the spell is cast, resulting in decreased visibility. Only works if snow is already present, as it cannot generate elements.) The choice is yours. Pick one. Takeshi Yamamoto | KHR |
Yamamoto has no idea really how to use magic, not the slightest clue. Luckily the makami with him seems more than willing to cooperate as the baseball player, in the beginning, is pitching snowballs with no magic. Nevermind, he has a great arm so most of those are likely to find their mark. He may prefer a batter's position but he is good at pitcher when his team needs him.
After a few rounds of normal snowballs his familiar comes up to him and the young man crouches down, head tilted as if listening to the creature. After a moment he chuckles and begins to imbue his snowball with magic, slowly it grows into a medium-sized bear, and Yamamoto stares at it in amazement. When he orders the bear forward, it shuffles a few inches, then burst into dance.
The swordsman stares at the snowball bear and doubles over in laughter, not the least bit bothered by the fact that his spell clearly did not work right.
Wild-Card:Very interested in the Solstice Ritual as well as Fogueria quest. If anyone would like to do those, I'd be glad to write a top-level for it. Feel free to have a normal snowball fight with him, laugh at his dancing bear, or wildcard him on one of the other options, open to anything here.

So to see a dancing ice bear is pretty cool, but it's short lived as he recognizes the laughter. And it's enough to make him light up.]
Yamamoto? Is that you?
no subject
Then he hears a voice he knows well and Yamamoto is peeking around that bear with a huge grin.]
Tsuna! When did you get here?
[Que sunshine, because of course, he's lighting up at the sight of his best friend! And going around the bear so he can greet him.]
no subject
I...I've been here a while actually. Like, a month?
[That's...terrifying, now that he thinks of it.]
What about you? I mean, it's just been me and Gokudera-kun.
no subject
Huh? No way, I just saw you, must be some weird thing of the kid's.
[Cause, of course, this has to do with Reborn, wouldn't it? Even if he was not expecting this to be what happened. If his friends are here, here is where he wants to be.]
I just got here, it took a couple of days after I landed in the water with Jirou for us to get here.
[Beside him his familiar appears more like a wolf than a dog, though bounding out of the snow is a familiar Akita, minus any blue flames but just as happy to puff up rainbow snow between the two teenagers and send Yamamoto into a fit of laughter.]
no subject
I thought that to, but if it is something Reborn kicked up, I figured he would have shown up by now to gloat or something.
[Or smack Tsuna around a bit.]
But that's how Gokudera-kun and I showed up here as well, but I didn't expect more people to show up.
no subject
Huh, yeah it doesn't seem like the kid to hide out like that.
[Plus, they were all supposed to be living their lives now.]
Of course, we would Tsuna! It's what friends do, when you need help we'll always be there.
[Because obviously that must be why he is here.]

DIET NESSIE HAS ENTERED THE BATTLE
The bomber is too bold to try and hide his shots, but when it comes to shields, he's trying to contain dynamite hidden inside snowballs. There's light about snowball to contain the explosion and make it non-lethal. Halfway through the air, it bursts into rainbow glitter and rains down on the bear.
He notices and recognizes the baseball idiot, because how could he not? Gokudera looks down at the creature he's recognized as his own familiar, and it's cloaked in snow, just a lump on the ground, like someone tried to make a snow plesiosaur.]
Oi! Lariosuro... Lari! Larry.. Lari Diet Nessie! Do something!
[The creature snores and there are bubbles lifting up from it's snow-covered head that turn into hollow ice crystal balls. Gokudera squints at them and then looks at the snowball in his hand. Maybe he can reinforce them with magic to make them heavier? After a little bit, there's one rainbow snowball packed in light magic, which he lobs right at Yamamoto's shoulder. Maybe Gokudera wanted it to be hard as ice. Instead, it's acting like a water balloon filled with melted magic snow. Just a slushy splash that bursts upon impact. Gokudera ducks down behind his snow fort, and the small Ogopogo's head pops up over it like a periscope.]
Can Jirou try to use him as a chew toy? XD
When rainbow snow explodes over the bear, it dances till the end before shattering itself into a pile of snow, mixing in with the rainbow hues. Only making him laugh. Then he sees and hears someone familiar.]
Gokudera!
[Then there is a burst of wet rainbow snow on his arm, right about the moment the bomber's familiar pops up, out of the snow bursts Jirou, the Akita has no flames because his boy has no more access to his flames. What he does have is puppy energy and curiosity so he will be jumping up to put paws on that snow fort wall and go to nose at the familiar.]
Hahahah! [He takes that snowball, wet and all as a sign of let's do this and Yamamoto wastes no time in firing two of his own right back. He does not try to use his magic with it, just his natural strength and good throwing arm. Knowing him, unless Gokudera stands up so it hits him, those snowballs are going a good deal further than the need to, what is restraint?]
bad dog. I'm not gonna stop him but I wouldn't recommend it
Baseball idiot, take it more seriously!
[He could at least swing his shinai like a bat or something and knock the dynamite snowballs at other people to make them keep their distance! Gokudera is going to stick his head up over the fort to hollar at him, but then Jirou is bounding at them and Gokudera's sputtering with even more outrage. His familiar stares at the dog, then opens its mouth wider than it seems capable of doing. There look to be no teeth lining its great maw, but then there's a bubble expanding up and out of its throat. Does Jirou pop it.]
You got a dog as a familiar!? [Gokudera exclaims before a snowball hits with all of the trained athletic force that Yamamoto has never been good at keeping a lid on and breaks off a chunk of the wall he'd constructed to keep him safe.]
What the hell are you aiming at?!
he just wants to be friends :(
It's a game, Gokudera! [At the sight of the pup and the familiar Yamamoto laughs again, sure this is supposed to be a snowball fight, but it's fun! And that bubble is huge, his eyes go wide, as do the Akita's, he barks at, dropping down on his haunches, butt wiggling, and there he goes, leaping up over that snow fort wall to try and catch the big bubble that he is mistaking for a ball!]
Huh? That's Jirou! He just doesn't have his flames.
[Ha! Take that wall, he is giving a short whoop of victory as part of that wall breaks off, and readying another volley of snowballs, beside him is a large wolf, all black it seems to at times be made of shadows the way it moves, red eyes watching the boy intently as if waiting for him to ask for help or something.]
You're cover, so you can't hide, even the playing field.
[Yeah, sorry Gokudera, he is still here, still having fun with this.]
good dogs do not chew on their friends
Dogs don't have flames! You're thinking of dragons!
[The Ogogpogo keeps blowing bubbles, making a bunch of little ones around Jirou so he can bite at them and pop them. The large one is just acting as a distraction, and once Jirou finds all the little ones, Larry will be hidden back in the snow around them, going back to napping until he's needed.]
I spent time making this just like you're spending time making snowballs! It's plenty fair.
[He patches it up quickly, then reaches to his stack of snowballs and flings a bubble towards Yamamoto. It goes slowly and then just drops and turns to snow, making Gokudera roll his eyes.]
it was just friendly nibbles of puppy love, geeze, so mean :(

So is talking.
[But the cheerful laugh as he launches, two of them back to back at Jean says it all. He's just here to have fun and he is doing exactly that.]

Usagi stares at this show in amazement because this really is the most amazing thing she has seen here so far!! Wait, what?! He's ordering the bear to move? Can SHE make moving snow animals too?! She'll have to try, right n--
Suddenly his bear starts dancing and he's definitely not the only here, who bursts into laughing like that! She would laugh at her own creations doing that too, she'll probably be one of the easiest targets around because of that but she doesn't even care!
She'll try to calm down a bit... "Woooooooow, that's amazing!!" Nope, still laughing after that.
no subject
Meanwhile, he has heard her laugh, looks up, and grins "I just told him to move and he did that!" Oh hey, well then he will keep right on laughing, though his ends off on a soft exhalation.
Then he looks at the bear, then the girl, then the bear "Ha..My bad" and he is doubled over laughing quite happily, oh what a cycle they have started here, maybe they can catch their breath and make introductions after this.
no subject
He notices Yamamoto pitching a few snowballs. He has a hell of an arm, and Crow is clearly no match. Still doesn't stop the idiot from sneakily gathering some snow and trying to strike the teen from behind.]
INCOMING!
[Probably not a smart idea to announce his attack either.]
no subject
He was so busy laughing at his bear that he does not notice until there is a splash of snow on his back that he has an "enemy" on his flank.
When he does though there is a whoop of laughter, the young hitman whips around. Bright smile, clearly not minding that the shouted incoming meant it was coming for him]
Return fire!!
[Well why not, it seems to be how the game is played right? Either way, he'll throw three snowballs, one after the other right at Crow and he is in motion the next, going to dive behind his rather jaunty dancing bear!]
no subject
Crow is about to counter when he sees Yamamoto dives behind his bear. No fair! He balls up a few more snowballs waiting for the other teen to peek from around his familiar. Not long after, Crow starts to get impatient and decides to pelt the bear with snowballs, hoping it will move and diminish Yamamoto's cover.]
no subject
About the same time his Akita comes bounding through the piles of snow and takes off with a snowball in his mouth, running right for the other male, Jirou in fact drops it at Crow's feet as if playing fetch.]
Traitor! [he calls after the dog, except there is no anger, and Yamamoto is grabbing up snow and packing another set of snowballs to lob at his newfound friend, because, for him, this is how you friendship, so welcome to the list of people he likes Crow, it is a very long one!]
1/2
What the heck?!
[ Yamamoto doesn't seem concerned, maybe their familiars just go poof like that. He doesn't have much time to dwell on it when Jirou runs up to him, snowball in his mouth and anxious to play. This little guy must belong to that teen, too. The redhead bends down to level with canine, his own tail wagging as he admires the dog.]
Heh. You wanna join the fun too, eh?
2/2
Hey! That's dirty! Using your adorable dog to cheat!
[He grasps for any snow he could reach, jumping up to his feet to hurling some more balls at his opponent.]
