TEST DRIVE MEME ⚔️️ 2
![]() Premise ⚔️️ Rules ⚔️️ FAQ ⚔️️ Taken ⚔️️ Reserves ⚔️️ Apply ⚔️️ Locations ⚔️️ Bestiary ![]() A ⦿ Soaking in Your Arrival
Regardless of what you were in the middle of, you and your familiar have been magically pulled into the world of Avalon just above the Bay's chilly waters. After a brief plunge into the Bay, the rush of water filling your ears and soaking up into every creak and crevice of your body, you may need to cough to clear your airways when you rise above the surface. It's paralyzingly cold for a few seconds before you're approached by the Lady of the Lake beneath the water's surface. She puts a vial of a vibrant, glowing red Everwarm* potion to your character's lips. The icy water doesn't feel so icy once consumed and you'll be able to move your limbs enough to swim to shore on your own. She can't stick around to explain, she's got to get this to all the new arrivals! Many of which you'll see plopping in around you. If you can't swim, a handful of helpful ice turtles will scoop you up from beneath and drop you off at the shore. When not helping people, the turtles are going around and hitting the ice that keeps forming on the surface with their shells to keep the surface open for the falling arrivals or pushing personal items to the beach near the new arrivals they smell like (belong to). If anyone tries to ask the Lady of the Lake for directions, she will direct you to Archimedes at the Rent-a-Ride. If anyone with Animal Magic asks the turtles, they will give the full spiel, but very slowly, and they like to get off topic and gossip about other turtles you've never heard of. The shores themselves are littered with new arrivals complaining their way up a staircase carved into the walls of the White Cliffs. There is no railing, so be careful, but if you do fall, be prepared for a mysterious sand hand to reach out of the side of the cliffs to catch you. The hand will pat you atop the head twice before retreating back into the wall. This is the Cliff Beast; despite the name, he is quite friendly. B ⦿ The Caravan to Camelot
These carriages use fae technology that combats weight, so your character will be able to get in regardless of whether they're light as a feather or weigh two tons. The carts have air conditioning when it's hot, heating when it's cold, and a mystical shield to protect from bugs. There is also a mini-bar that pops out of the console with nip bottles. Characters can use their smartphones to connect to Camelot's internet service, C ⦿ The Red Spring
If you don't want to relax in the room, try taking a dip in the spring for another chance to meet your fellow travelers. The waters have restorative properties that help horses and travelers recover quickly when drunk. It is known to relieve stress, improve energy levels, and mildly accelerate healing. It may be a little chilly when you get out though, so make sure you don't slip rushing back indoors when you get out! The springs are also home to a large training grounds just outside town limits, where there are teachers who will teach basic magic safety and help you discover what kind of magic you have together with other new arrivals. Try target practice, obstacle courses, meditation circles, and other ways to try to figure out just what you can do... if you didn't already have an accidental discovery on the ride there. ![]() A ⦿ Trial and Icy Errors Winter has arrived in Avalon, and with it has come to a change in the weather. Puffs of breath precede sentences when outside, small fires fill braziers to allow people to stop and get warm for a moment between where they come from and where they are going. Snow has begun to fall; at first, it is the same, fluffy, white flakes many adventurers will have seen. However, as the day progresses, the snow begins to shimmer; it’s like a prismatic effect, a magical light catching against every little crystal and illuminating sparkling flakes, so vibrant it’s clear someone has enchanted the snow. Shortly after the change, there will be a text alert to all devices: Tired of the same old routine with your magic? Ready for a little something new? Come on out and have an old fashioned snowball fight with a magical twist. Be sure to practice your new powers and have fun! 😉 -MerlinThose who come outside to find the rainbow snow already being packed into neat balls by Camelot's citizens; go ahead and grab a basket full but remember, don’t just toss them. Let’s get magic with it! Different types of magic will have different effects on the enchanted snow: In the end, it seems while adventurers will be able to get plenty of practice in, some of that practice is going to come from trying to stop the side effects of mixing their powers with the magic snow; welcome to your first lesson in control. If one is going to use magic in conjunction with already magically imbued things, they ought to know the right amount, seems Merlin wants you all to learn in a trial by snowball error. Those who practice their magic and participate in the snowball fight will be given hot chocolate, warm soup, fresh baked goods, or other treats to warm them up after their training is done. But don’t slack off! You’re like to find your hot chocolate spiced with pickle flavor, that warm treat suddenly turns to ice cream in your mouth. Avalonians want that practice to happen, and are willing to add some incentive... whether that means the carrot or the icicle. ![]() All throughout the City of Camelot is a buzz of excitement about the oncoming winter solstice on the 21st. Citizens will tell you of the winter solstice's importance in cleansing the flow of Avalon's magic each year and absorbing sunlight to increase its potency. In other words, the winter solstice generates a significant amount of magic if the proper ritual is followed, so the visitors from other worlds really should head on over to Albion's White Cliffs. A ⦿ The Darkness in the White Cliffs
Once you gain entrance, you will find there is no light within the caves and the door seems to close behind you. Non-magical lights won't illuminate anything within these caves, so you will need to either navigate through the darkness or find a magical means to light your path. Be wary-- traveling in the dark will be a much safer journey if you can find your way through the caves and keep track of your companions. The reason there is no light are the bat-like creatures that eat energy like fire and electricity. With the magical light attracting them and nothing to consume, they'll be very aggressive and swarm anything emitting heat.. like an unsuspecting traveler. Make too much noise, and the Cliff Beast will spit you out back onto the sand and you'll have to start over. B ⦿ "For a greedy man, even his tomb is too small."
There is no clear warning about what will happen if you take anything besides your one cup. However, characters who disobey this instruction and take any of the riches within the cave will initially experience severe symptoms such as magical blockage, an endless common cold, and food turning to ash in their mouth. They will experience dreams in which they are urged to return the treasure and a day later, advanced symptoms if it goes on for too long have been known to result in vomiting frogs and snakes, insomnia, speaking in tongues despite the translation spell, bleeding from the ears, and eventually death. C ⦿ Drink Up
Upon arriving at the Red Springs, a party of people there to guide those who have made the ritual's journey to a particular pool within the vicinity of the springs. Characters will be directed to take a sip, then pour the rest into the Spring alongside your peers, finally throwing the clay cup itself into the spring. Throughout the day, you will begin to feel strangely giddy, but it will pass. Nothing much will seem like it happens otherwise, but the guides assure you that you will understand on the night of the winter solstice when the ritual is complete and your body becomes a conduit to purify and rejuvenate Avalon's magic. For now, as thanks, the guides offer you one of the celebratory gifts they have to offer-- free drinks (this time of the age-appropriate alcoholic or sugary variety), a free night's stay at the Red Springs, a yule log, an escort, a Recipe: Snow Dance. (Effect: Snow Dance will cause small flurries to pick up where the spell is cast, resulting in decreased visibility. Only works if snow is already present, as it cannot generate elements.) The choice is yours. Pick one. MOD NOTES: • All test drive prompts are open to anyone in the game at any time to create your own logs with, but this post should have top-levels by potential new characters only. weiss schnee | rwby
[ Weiss knows how to swim! Of course, she does. Although it's been quite some time since she actually did it! Normally, in a situation like this, she would try and cast her Glyphs to get her out of this mess, but it doesn't seem like it's possible. After a fit of panic and lots of struggling in the water, she manages to be brought to the shore by the helpful ice turtles. Truly very helpful, and Weiss can't help but find said turtles to be cute.
After telling the turtle who helped her out a quick thank you, she finds herself, well... lost. It's only now that she's not sinking that it's sinking in (ha ha!) that she's far removed from where she was previously, from what she'd been forced to get used to, and while other people seem to be in the same situation as her? She truly and utterly feels alone.
But Weiss has always been one not to panic in situations like this. Her chest begins to feel heavy when she realises that the people she's familiar with aren't anywhere nearby. First thing's first, though... her shrug, soaked with water, is heavy as hell and is weighing her down. So is her hair, tied up in a braid to the side and all, so she lets that down, too. ]
Oh, oh— b- b- bad idea, bad i- dea, Weiss... [ IT'S REALLY, REALLY COLD NOW. And she can't even use her Aura. Was it depleted entirely because she was sinking in the water? Damn, that must be it. If so, then she'd need the help of others. ]
It'ssocold. [ That's the first thing she blurts out to anyone she sees and makes eye contact with. ] I- I need your hand.
[ You know! For the warmth and all! Just ignore the glowing knight behind her who seems like it could hit its head on the door frame if it ever tried to enter a room. ]
❄️ B: RED SPRING
[ A little more armed with knowledge and a little reassurance that she's not alone, she finds herself at the training grounds to learn more about the magic she's now capable of. It's really not something she can wrap her head around—using magic and all, without a source for it like her own soul—but she's gotten the basic idea of using magic during her stay in Lunatia. It is only unfortunate that her ice powers are no longer with her... replaced by telekinesis which at first she had no control of.
(She did not meant to accidentally shove a man into a lamppost...)
With a deep breath, she empties her mind so she can concentrate on what it is that needs to be done. She at least has knowledge of magic and how to use it already. Surely, it can't be that hard! ]
Just like Glyphs! Except you don't use your Aura. So... not like Glyphs, at all. [ It's more said to herself to psyche herself up as she stands before an obstacle course. If she wants to move things, then she has to start with herself.
She starts running, mind focused on increasing her speed little by little. To anyone watching, she seems to be succeeding, because soon after, she just looks like a white blur as she jumps from one platform to the other, until she circles back to where she came from and... uh oh. How does she stop?
By crashing into someone, apparently! At least she's small! Getting hit by her shouldn't be that painful! ]
Ow...
❄️ C: DRINK UP
[ It's been a strange experience lately, and all Weiss wants to feel is a sense of normalcy. When told to drink from the cup, however, it does not give her that at all. Instead, she becomes giddy and bubbly, far from the Ice Queen that others perceive her to be. She doesn't seem to be in the midst of combusting because she's vibrating too hard, but she's a little more talkative than usual.
And in such a good mood. Oh, is she in a good mood. ]
So... just to be clear - people don't have to hug or kiss to make money here, right? It's never, ever happening, is that correct?
[ What an ice breaker. . . She just wants to be sure this is all real, even if it's been made a clear a little while ago. It's funny to think about - that making money the normal way is not normal for her anymore. ]
❄️ D: WILDCARD
[ Feel free to hit me up with your own starter, or send me a PP through
B
It's enough of an impact to make him lose his balance for sure. At least the snow is soft and makes the fall a bit easier.]
Great... I've always wanted to practice being a shield.
no subject
Said white blur has also conveniently used Jean as a perch of sorts. Crashing into him and making him stumble backwards, she's landed on him, and her fall's definitely less painful now. ]
I thought I could control it, sorry.
[ She still hasn't gotten off him. ]

It doesn't take long for him to recognize her or offer his hand to her. Of course he knows what it implies. They need Chroma to regain their warmth.
Except. There is not chroma flow, even if they end up holding hands.]
This... is odd. It should work, shouldn't it?
no subject
It... feels different.
[ Weiss looks at their hands, now. It feels warm, but not the same kind of warmth that moonlacing provides. It's more... she can feel Ren, as a human being? It's different. Far different from the flow of Chroma.
It should be familiar, but after being in a place where you had to hold hands to feel good and make money for over a year? The normalcy of regular handholding'a disappeared. ]
no subject
[The question is "why" though. Ren wasn't in Lunatia that long, but it's also a strange feeling to him by now.
Sirius the puppy comes close and nudges their hands, licking Weiss's to try and give her some warmth.]
no subject
[ Since she felt that. You know? The "Before Chroma happened" kind of feeling. ]
... hi, Sirius. [ That puts a small smile on her face, at least. Her free hand gives the dog a pat on the head. Although maybe she should let go of Ren's hand, too? It's not like it's doing anything. ]

And so when the woman with a braid asks her something, Eruca's frown is not as deep as it would be in normal circumstances. ]
No, I don't think so. We were told our task is to cultivate magic, strengthen the land, and aid this world in saving all others. It would take up too much of our time if we were forced to find work at brothels to earn our keep.
[ That line of work is far removed from the her life. Only as a member of the rebellion did she need to traverse the shadows of Granorg. Bold strangers teased her— a princess among them! what an honor— but she earned their trust, sincere in her wish to take back her country.
But beyond that? She's not sure where she'd start if that were the only kind of work allowed them. ]

[ But now she realises how ridiculous she might have sounded! Her pale skin becomes tainted with red as blood rushes to her cheeks. How embarrassing...
Rather than explain, however, she shakes her head and waves a hand dismissively. ]
Please ignore me. I think I had a weird dream, that's all.
[ Oh, she knows that wasn't a dream... ]
no subject
I apologize. I assumed you meant something else.
[ Haha goodness, that's embarrassing. She's got to work on being less serious. There's no Rebellion here, no ritual to perform. She can afford to relax. ]
Oh? To me, this entire experience seems like a dream. A strange one, but... a rather good one, all things considered.
[ Surely she's referring to all of this? Or... ]
Or did you mean some other experience?

Promise
Tch—!
[ But if you could see the look on his face- the frustration in his eyes... ]
Ggh...
[ It's not even training anymore. This is venting. Futile venting that sees him taking another tall swing of the giant sword before bringing the weapon crashing down through the snow, splitting in its wake. His arms are on the brink of giving out. Shaking. Trembling. An equally shaken sigh escapes him as he bows his head and feels his fingers throb with pain. Weak...unable to change anything. Worlds apart from not only his own family and friends, but from the people he'd grown so fond of, so attached to that he couldn't think of another day without them.
Gulping in more of that colder air as it fills his lungs, the mako that bolstered his strength even more wanes...and he finally lets the weapon drop to the ground entirely. But he doesn't fall. Cloud just...feels listless. But more importantly, he feels alone. His deepest fear manifests, and he's left without a single clue as to where to go, what to do, how to get back, how to find those he promised to see again...
How to find the one person he swore he'd always be with. ]
......
[ "Just wanna make sure I do this right." ]
[ With a shaking hand, he stands more upright as snow begins to fall over the training grounds. That's when he can hear it. He can hear her echoing through his memories even now as he reaches into his pocket for something. ]
[ "I think you are." ]
[ No matter where he went. What obstacles he faced. How cold he felt. Nothing could match the warmth of that brooch he still managed to hang onto as his gaze falls upon it. The time didn't matter. Nor did the place. Not once did it ever lose its luster, dreams or reality alike. Just like that, warmth spreads from his heart as he can hear her voice yet again. The memory of her arms wrapped around him when she tells him, ]
[ "You always have, Cloud." ]
That's right...
[ As crystalline snowflakes flutter down over the bright red gem, his hand closes over it tight as a weak yet soft smile graces his lips, his gaze lifting to the darkened sky. The same sky that everyone shared. If he didn't do something about the collapse of the multiverse, there wouldn't be a future with her. Prismatica was just one bump on the road. And his journey's far from over. He'll pick himself up again.
He has to. Because... ]
A promise is a promise. Right?
[ "I've always felt so loved by you." ]
no subject
She's not even mad at anyone in particular. No, not mad. But scared that she's alone... again. Tasting what it felt like to not be lonely again, only to get shoved back in that solitary space once again. She has to pick herself back up, though. She's fought this prison once. Twice, even. She can do it again. Not just for herself this time, because she has a promise to keep. That she'd always come back. And to do that, she needs to do three things: fix whatever mess she's in, then fix Remnant, then find a way to Gaia. Perhaps it's why she can keep her head up despite the increased irritability. Her determination to do all these things, no matter how long it takes, is what makes her keep taking step after step forward.
It's already nighttime, but she hopes that the training grounds are quiet and not as populated. She wants to have some time for herself, to plan her next moves, and to try and understand the magic bestowed upon her. With a sigh, she enters the open area, a coat covering most of her upper body (you can bet her coat is a short one that still shows her legs). The lights are all on, making the field easy to see. Although the snow that falls from the night sky, pretty as it is, doesn't make everything too clear. Her heels click against the pavement as she walks to the center, eyes focused upwards as she holds her palms up to catch some of the snow.
She wonders, what it's like in this place. There's Winter Solstice, but is there anything like Firialia? Funny... it should be soon. She was hoping to actually celebrate it—the actual day—with one specific person. They missed their chance before; Weiss doesn't regret her choices that led her to who she is now, but she feels her chest tighten when she realises that she still can't celebrate it with... ]
Cloud?
[ Her voice is hushed, like the wind stole her breath away. She'd just begun to look at where she was going upon realising she hadn't been paying attention to where she was going. Moving becomes difficult as she finds her legs shaking. If she said his name, she hopes he didn't hear her. He might not even know who she is. And when she blinks rapidly as if in disbelief as to what she's seeing, she finds herself putting both hands by her chest, one hand trying to grab what it can of the pendant the coat she's wearing protects.
What would happen if he doesn't recognise her? Weiss wouldn't actually know what to do. She's too nervous to say anything at this time, too nervous to be wrong. But... he looks so tired. Weiss can't ignore that. Suddenly, she walks. Her body does it on its own, moving forward and towards him until they're face to face. Until she can lift a gloved hand, removing the cloth momentarily so she can reach up on the tips of her toes and run her fingers through his hair. She's still shaking and she's still scared, but... she wants to take a chance. She has to. This is just the start of many other risks she'd be taking for him.
Hi stranger. Don't stab her for invading your personal space.]There's a lot of snow on your head.

Human.
But just because he lost part of what made him human when he got turned into a Sephiroth clone, didn't mean he lost his humanity at heart. How else was he supposed to respond to a voice he could have sworn was inside his head? So quiet, yet it resonates deeply within him as he stops from putting the brooch away. ]
Weiss...
[ At first he smiles sadly, the kneejerk thought being that it's still all in his head. ...a feeling that lasts all of but maybe two seconds as his sapphire gaze widens, his breath catching in his throat as the red gem begins to glimmer with life. Sure enough, instinct finally catches up to him, and he looks up from the brooch in his hand as his head snaps in the direction of the white-haired huntress. ]
......
[ She's standing there, ethereal in her beauty, holding both hands to her chest as the snow falls so gently over her. A sight that he's seen in his dreams over and over. A vision that he's revealed before against his will; that snowy hill in a distant land... It's not quite the same, but his response hasn't changed. Lips part as he stares in awe. Like a deer in the headlights, he doesn't budge as Weiss moving towards him. A noise comes out of his mouth, but it's a struggle. His throat feels tighter than ever as he feels his body tense the closer she becomes. ]
how-
[ His eyes follow her gloved hand, his breath trembling as he looks afraid. They can't read each others' thoughts, but so vulnerable in his loneliness and desperation to cling to hope, he finds himself repeating something that would have been so heartbreaking otherwise. If this were a dream...
(Don't...)
He looks like he's about to break.
(Don't touch me.)
Onto her tippy toes she goes, running her fingers through his hair. Cloud's expression cracks more.
(Don't touch me if you're not real.) ]
[ "There's a lot of snow on your head." ]
[ Those same pure icy blues staring right back at him. That slender, loving touch that betrays the 'ice queen' front, so warm as his head tingles in response to the fingers through his hair. The cadence of her voice despite the fact she's shaking too. It's everything he remembers. Everything he wants. ]
Sorry...
[ ... ]
Weiss—
[ Everything he has. ]

She doesn't need anything else now. Just a few moments ago, she was so scared that this guy wasn't the one she knew. It could have been possible... but if he just said her name, then it has to be him, right? It has to be, just like how she's his. ]
Your Weiss.
[ But he still looks so scared, in pain... As confused as she is, and as happy as she is despite her tears that slowly begin to fall, she has other things she wants to do now. No more training... she can do that another time. Cloud is here. Cloud is here. With her. And she didn't even have to save this world just yet, and then fight some sort of ethereal being just to get to where he is.
Her other hand moves lower, so she can take his. There's no Chroma from her touch, nothing but the warmth that her love can bring. It doesn't feel any different, though. But Weiss has rejected the Chroma whenever she was with Cloud a long time ago.
And now, for what she wants to do... He looks so tired, so stressed, so beaten up. That needs to be fixed. This just means another night of pampering... If they fall asleep, she knows he'll be there. He's here now. He didn't go. He promised. In the same way that she told him she'd always come back.
She's here now. ]
Sit down with me inside? You'll get sick this way.

GET BACK HERE, YOU MUNCHKIN!
[ He is, of course, referring to the dog, now very inconveniently named Merlin, who heard Weiss from a ways away (dog hearing and all) and ran off on his own. Right to jump into Weiss's arms about three seconds after Midorima's yell rings out. Midorima isn't too far behind. He's got much longer legs than Merlin, after all, it isn't hard to catch up. Though he looks taken aback when he sees Weiss. ]

What just happened?
[ Arf!
Too bad Weiss can't understand, though. But she does look up, noticing there's someone else. Not completely frozen, she can't help but laugh a little. ]
