Just for the record: I'm probably not going to be apping either one this coming month, so please don't expect them on the next test drive. But I'd like to pick up one of these two in the future, and I could use some help deciding which one.

The Builder Dragon Quest Builders 2 Enable me, please!

Just as her title implies, she loves building things. It's her life, her hobby, her purpose, her love language... there's nothing in the world that she finds more fun, except maybe working together with her friends. She has an incredibly sunny disposition, and jumps at any chance to help out others. And I do mean any chance, since she'll take on some incredibly ill-advised projects, and accept requests from enemies or monsters. Heck, she even became best friends with the endboss from one of the main DQ games, and taught him that even a God of Destruction can have fun creating things. (It's also incredibly easy to ship them. He's a feral himbo monsterboy, who wouldn't love him?) I've already picked out Alchemy and Bargaining magic for her. In the latter case, she would seek the help of fae as labor for constructing buildings, and return the favor by making them anything they want as well (as well as happily complying with all their nature-friendly building codes). As soon as possible, she would be setting up a business to help people build their dream homes, or upgrade their own businesses. So, what's not ready is... her journal itself. Trying to find icon material for this girl is hard, even when looking into fanart. I would also need to settle on her name, since she's a customizable protag. Right now, I'm thinking of using her default name of Creatrix, a.k.a. Crea for short — but I don't feel committed to the idea just yet.








Dr. Starline Sonic the Hedgehog (IDW Comic Series) Enable me, please!

And then, at the other end of the teamwork spectrum, we have a horrible platypus man who likes robots better than people. Starline used to idolize the infamous Dr. Eggman, but discovered that he liked the man's work better than the person himself — and now he's out to prove that he can do a better job of conquering the world. He also had a starring moment in the Bad Guys side series, where he forged an alliance with a number of other villainous types, found problems with all of them, and broke all those alliances to strike out on his own. He's overly analytical and critical, thinks brains are way more important than brawn, and that he's got the biggest and best brains in the room. His main passion is inventing, but he also has a noted interest in psychology... which is probably why he seems a lot like Niles from Frasier playing the role of a Saturday Morning Cartoon villain. His account's all set up and ready to roll (comics are the best medium for icon material, I swear), but I don't have any plans on how to integrate him with the Avalon community. I'd like to have him feud with hero types for sure, to help establish what a bad guy he is. I'm also debating what magic he would have. Dark, Kinetic, Alchemy, Cognitive, and Technomancy all stand out as stuff in his wheelhouse.

goodness gracious, I could actually feel my eyes widening extra large when I spotted STARLINE

so yeah would love that evil, evil platypus - Della would be thrilled for more of her kind to show up and then be visibly disappointed that he's a bad guy. She'll then decide he's not really a threat and just go for endless noogies.

As for him and Avalon, I imagine he'd be both fascinated and frustrated by the mix of magic and technology, trying to use it for his own means, how can he bring it back to his world, etc. And Technomancy seems like a MUST for him. So platy-pal has my vote!

If I do app him, I honestly and sincerely that as many people mistake him for a duck as possible. Nothing would make me happier than him explaining over and over that he's a platypus, and getting more exasperated every time.

... although him getting bullied with noogies would be a close second. How dare you give him exactly the sort of treatment he deserves.

Bringing it back to his world is one option, but I also wonder if the multiverse aspect would inspire him to be more ambitious. Why fail to take over one world when you can fail to take over every world?

Sorry I am just going to throw my hat into the ring of "yes Starline" even though Shadow will have *no idea* who he is. Also seconding that Technomancy seems like it'd be a good magic type for him too.

It's fine, I'm sure they can get to know each other over a nice, healthy, productive conversation about Eggman.

All jokes aside, I do think that if I apped Starline, he'd walk right up to Shadow and introduce himself. You know, as something that's almost a familiar face while he's getting his bearings in this wild new world.

So one thing I neglected to mention about Starline is that he's quite pragmatic in his approach to villainy. A little theatrics are fine, but not at the expense of good planning.

... Darkwing would infuriate him by everything he chooses to be.

Hey now, I never said this is a democracy! I'm definitely curious if anyone's interested in the business she would be bringing to the game. (Or the longshot, if someone had been considering Malroth.)

Because... as I said, trying to make icons for this girl is such a hassle? Even turning to fanart doesn't help much, since the majority of it is Builderoth fluff. And while that's good for my heart, it does make it a challenge to find a variety of expressions for her. Not to mention that plenty of artists draw her with their in-game customizations, like different hair colors or entirely different outfits...

I might have to go hunting for someone who does icon commissions and can imitate Toriyama's style pretty well. And that makes playing the good girl a huge upfront investment, when I'm already on the fence about whether or not I'm ready for more than one character.

...I mean, I did just start Yet Another play through on the PC...

But that's 100% fair. The only real expression she shows in game are derp, surprised, and super happy, and that doesn't help.

She does have a lineface that she uses for the entire segment where bad things happen to Malroth.

But yeah, I've considered using the in-game camera to make some of my own, as yet another option to finish setting the account up.
