Info: on the surface, itaru appears to be a charming, well-mannered salaryman who even gets the prince treatment of the company he works at -- but ultimately that's all a front to hide the fact that he's a shit-talking manchild with a crippling addiction to videogames. only the peeps at mankai knows about this side of him though, but upon coming here he just kind of stopped putting up the pretense since he's always wanted to be isekai'd, lol. that said, the two sides of his personality differ like night and day, but he's just as good at balancing the act by being his chill, laidback self overall.

Info: Claude has an easygoing, charismatic exterior. He rarely seems to take anything seriously, but all that joking around serves to mask his cunning and ambitious true nature. As the leader of the Leicester Alliance, he's come from the tail end of a long five-year war against the Adrestian Empire, in which he gained a reputation as a master tactician. He's secretive, slow to trust, and prone to scheming in order to gain the upper hand over his opponents.

He's ultimately an idealist, however, and wants to create a world where people can peacefully coexist regardless of birthplace, social status or beliefs. Avalon interests him in that regard, since people from other worlds have mostly been able to get together to cooperate. He's also insatiably curious, which constantly drives him to seek out knowledge or uncover mysteries. give him the looooooore (game lore? your canon's lore? all the lore)

Desired CR: the cliche answer of ANYTHING... as mentioned, claude is endlessly curious about other people and other worlds, so he wants to meet just about anyone. Whether he gets along with them or rubs them the long way is another matter, but he really does want all the CR.
Known Plans: Claude's currently seeing what he can research after the desert expedition he mentioned in this post. I'm not sure if I'll have time to thread it myself, but if anyone else's character was dragged into underwater town shenanigans, he'll no doubt ask them questions about it too.

Info: Teenaged battle butler from WWII who hunts vampires and other supernatural threats. Technically a child soldier even though he's not official military. Kind of like the SOE in practice -- go in, wreck shit and kill the targets, then get out quick to go do it somewhere else. Very gray morality. Cooks, cleans, and does his own laundry. More accepting of checkered pasts than your typical protagonist. Low-key but unabashed feminist.
Magics & Familiar: Kinetic and Death Magic, with a Black Dog (see folklore) for a familiar. He's finally given the boy a name, too!
Desired CR: Friendship, rivals, and maybe frenemies? Romance is more of 'if it happens, it happens' for him. He may be a teenager but the only thing he's thirsty for is a good fight. Or a good cup of tea.
Known Plans: I plan on doing a post on the network with him struggling to handle the hero treatment Celliwig is giving him and some of the other Death mages. Not only does he not see himself as a hero, from his perspective he didn't do well enough because Arthur was gravely wounded.
Other: Tl;dr he's going to be a little depressed this month. Threads might touch on darker subjects more than usual, but it's a good shot for getting some deeper CR with him.

Canon: Final Fantasy 14 (MMO)
Info: Main villain of the Shadowbringers expansion for FF14, one of the three Ascian Paragons that the Warrior of Light encounters. He's a grumpy and difficult old soul stuck in the body of Garlemald's first emperor. Although his morals are questionable at times, he has currently put his antagonism aside and keeps to himself where possible.

Magics & Familiar: Alchemy / Death, Shadow Gwiber

Desired CR: Would like him to have more friends or rivals - anything really. He needs more reasons to care about people beyond his own cast. People who fit into the 'hero' archetype will probably have more interesting interactions with him but I'm open to everyone!

Known Plans: I currently have a plot running - this log post has the details and a link to the related Questboard entry. After he is captured, he'll be sentenced to helping the Old Man (from the Pure of Heart quest months ago) with his end-of-life requests for about two months. If he makes any sort of trouble during that, he'll be forced to stay with the old man and unable to travel to the city.

Beyond that, I'm interested in doing some of the other quests after he's released. Since he has to behave, he'll be a little more (reluctantly) amenable to working with others.

Canon: Gintama (This is just one of those zodiac memes going around on Twitter, but I feel like it gives a nice little glimpse into Gintama's atmosphere!)
Info: What if aliens invaded Earth in the 19th century (and we only looked at how that would affect Japan)? You get a wild mix of samurai stuff and space ships, CD players, MMOPRGs, and other 20th/21st century staples. In that chaotic world Hijikata co-leads the Shinsengumi, the shogunate's special police. He's a bit of a short-tempered bastard with a mayonnaise obsession, but ultimately he stands by his principles. I've got some first impressions here!
Magics & Familiar: Elemental & Death | Crow Tengu (Arashi)

Desired CR: I'm always up for anything (I mean it)!! Hijikata has some really great solid CR, and he got to know many new people last month. While a bunch of threads are still ongoing (forgive my slowness, work knocked me back a bit again this week!) he has a good impression of everyone new so far, and I'm curious to see where those relations might go too if you'd like to keep throwing them at each other!

Known Plans: There's so much good stuff to do again this month..!! Since the death mages who helped with the mirror are getting a reward I may make a prompt for that in case anyone would like some nice downtime in Celliwig. In terms of TDM prompts Hijikata will try to stay away from the mandrakes since he's wary of them (and also because he's preoccupied with the murders around town), but if anyone would like to do that with him, please rope him in!! I'll happily tag out. Of course he'll join the lake caravan to Elphame and end up going under, only to wake up with a new cecaelia bottom. Now Hijikata is one of the least horny Gintama characters (which says a lot), but his time on Prismatica did a number on him and left him with a... "special interest" in tentacles, so I'm playing with the idea of having him dawdle and end up stuck like that for a while for maximum awkwardness. He'll deflect and lie as hard as possible if anyone notices how compromised he is, but maaaybe there's a chance for some NSFW shenanigans there. I'm not yet sure if I'll have him back to normal in time to join the events at the castle. We'll see!

Regarding the Questboard he'd need to be roped into preparing the farmlands for Pomona's Day, the #MerlinQuest, and the Carcinus culling, mainly because he's so focused on the murders (and the roping doesn't have to be IC; just let me know if you'd like him to make himself useful on any of those fronts with your character and we'll make it happen!). On the dark web side of things he'll be available to protect, escort and/or defend animal mages who are being persecuted. I may just hit him with different fun animal parts at that stage, probably bull traits as another call-back to Prismatica. Why should he get a break?

One more thing I keep forgetting! The other month he lost his sword when he got into a kerfuffle with a fuath in the lake, and the Lady of the Lake kindly retrieved it for him, but not without first pretending that she instead found two (far more valuable) other swords... and since Hijikata was happy enough to take either of those as a replacement for the time being she gave him a slap of the wrist for being so unfaithful to his sword, in the form of a spell: the first thing that is said after someone is struck by his sword will come true. If anyone would like to have that be the cause for shenanigans, hit me up!

ALSO please never hesitate to poke me if I haven't responded to your tag after 3 days or longer! If that happens there's a 99% chance that Dreamwidth ate the notification!

Character Name: Monika
Canon: Doki Doki Literature Club

Info: Monika is a sentient video game character with severe trauma, and who thinks all of her troubles will be solved the day she finds love. On the surface though, you won't see any of it. She gives the image of a particularly intelligent eighteen-years old who holds herself with poise and tries to be confident. She's not that good with people so sometimes she can be a little bit awkward or timid, but she's also very friendly and tries her very best to make sure people around her feel comfortable and appreciated. As a general rule, she's doing really great when things are going as planned, and starts doing far worse once things go in totally unexpected ways.

She's a really sweet and kind person who has done horrible and terrible things when she was driven to despair. She can be a bit selfish and her experience as a video game character was basically what can best be described as a living hell. She also knows deep down falling in love won't solve her problems, but it's a nice thing to believe in. She's very good at convincing herself of her own lies when needed.

Magics & Familiar: Cognitive + Technomancy (will change to Kinetic in September). Familiar is a little shit, er I mean, a very rude pink nine-tailed fox.

Desired CR: Monika desperately needs people she can rely on and eventually open up to. She's already started making friends, but she needs more! She may not look like it, but the path she's on potentially leads to a total breakdown sooner or later unless she receives the proper support and advice. All the friends please!

People who hide trauma too would be great, people she can relate to and who can relate to her. Mutual support for the win! Fellow literature and music nerd! Fellow artificial lifeforms because somehow, all artificial lifeforms in media have life of misery. Also romantic-minded people with whom she can share her romantic dreams. Speaking of romance, she's really hoping to find love, but OOCly I'd rather it happens naturally.

And course, the true and tried negative CR is always an option, too.

Known Plans: Monika is going to start a social network thing sometimes this month! A Youtube channel on which she'll post thrice a week. On Fridays she'll post an audio book recorded by herself, and on Tuesdays she'll post introductions to various literary genres and formats. On Sundays, she'll post a different video every week of the month.

On Week 1, she'll post "Monika's Writing Tip of the Month." On Week 2, she'll post poem readings (her own and that of the audience which they sent her). On Week 3, she'll post book recommendations and evaluations based off her own readings. On Week 4, she'll reply to her audiences's questions, messages and the likes. And for the rare times when a month got five Sundays, the fifth week will be a musical special where she'll adapt her own writing into a song. She'd be super happy to do collaborations with other social network people or to have "guest stars" when discussing literary themes and formats she's less familiar with!

That aside, she'll practice her Technomancy and try making more friends!

Info: Within this canon, Darkwing Duck is an in-universe tv show, and Drake Mallard is a fanboy who essentially decides to become the hero in real life. Out of costume, he's a relatively chill, nerdy duck. And, mostly at night, he acts as Darkwing Duck, which involves being over-the-top and theatrical about everything, with lots of wordplay and alliteration, and a bit of pretending to be edgy. He does have a big ego and can be very petty, but he's sincere in wanting to help others and he can be very loyal and determined. He will always get back up to keep fighting no matter how many slapstick injuries he may endure!

Info:

A highly skilled shinobi at the age of 17. She was originally trained to become a Good Shinobi, but the combination of school work, training, and her parents' high expectations kept adding stress. Unfortunately, the tutor they hired was actually an assassin. After having her heart crushed by the bastard, and after he tried to torture her, she broke his limbs, but due to her public revenge and violating several rules, she was banned from becoming a Good shinobi, as well as disowned by her parents. The Evil Shinobi School, Hebijo, ended up taking her in when she was forced onto the streets, and she quickly rose to become one of the best ninja there. Eventually, she would learn the power of friendship, find a new family in her comrades, kill an investor of Hebijo who was planning to sacrifice her team to summon a giant snake monster called Orochi. be branded a renegade, and clear her name and kill the investor who was mind-controlling students (for real this time).

Homura can be skilled and strong, but hot-headed and loves a good fight more than anything. Despite the Good and Evil shinobi thing, they really are mostly just words, as both sides are capable of truly bad stuff, especially as corporations rise to power. As such, while she is willing to kill, her desire to do so has waned since staying her; granted kill or even touch her close CR...well, you'll find out how sharp her swords and blood claws are. She's more than willing to train people or even have sparring partners to continue to improve her skills, as well as accept those with a darker past to an extent, much like Hebijo did for her. She doesn't accept all evil mind you (see Yuber), but she's flexible and willing to work with others if they are approachable.

Desired CR:

Romance with her is a very slow burn and requires the right kind of personality, since she doesn't like letting people too close to her heart like that. Other than that, anything is fine, from good to bad CR, to more rivals/sparring partners, etc.

Info: Lorenz is... troublesome. Not that he means to be but he is a very dramatic, reactive, loud man and that seems to get him in trouble. His mouth tends to run away from him, he jumps to the worst conclusions, and he was raised in a rather backwards sort of place with very medieval culture.

It makes him very quick to judge. Though he's learned to be a lot more accepting of certain things there's still a lot he simply hasn't been exposed to. Many of the societal standards he was raised around are dragon!Catholic + Medieval Nobility and he's got the "judging others to hide your own flaws" thing down pat. Once he comes to respect/befriend someone though he is very loyal and supportive and sweet.

Magics & Familiar: Avalon Info. Machi's familiar is a black kitsune named Mugetsu and her magics are elemental and green.

Desired CR:
- FRIENDS PLEASE. Machi isn't that great on her own at making friends but she really, really appreciates them. She works exceptionally well as the straight man to your wackier types because of her aloof and cool attitude that warms quite a bit on further knowing her.
- CLASSMATES. Friends and classmates can intersect of course.
- COWORKERS. So I'd like Machi to get a job eventually in the coming months. If you've got suggestions -- and coworkers! -- feel free to let me know!
- ELEMENTAL & GREEN MAGE TEACHERS. She comes from a world where she's 100% average. She's also a very good student so if you've got a teacher worn out from reckless kids or something, please consider her as your star pupil, haha.
- (B)ROMANCE. So Machi at this point in canon has a budding crush on Yuki. However I'm happy to entertain any crosscanon ships your heart desires, whether this is a serious thing, a light flirtation or maybe just some fun dates? Machi has no experience with romance after all so learning about the ins and outs of the heart would be a lot of fun! No big age gaps though please.

- August Open Log. I can also throw in some closed prompts if you like.
- A minor goal is to get Machi a noble title. Because everyone calls Yuki a princess and a part of me thinks it'd be funny if Machi really was nobility here. That's all, that's it, that's my reasoning. Also she likes being helpful even if she's awkward at it.
- My longterm goal is for Machi to experience life without her mother breathing down her neck from afar as well as not being utterly alone for once. At home she lives by herself in a small apartment and has been all but rejected by her parents after she poured herself into pleasing her mother for much of her young life. She greatly craves positive reinforcement, love and warmth. The idea of a warm family isn't one she consciously realizes she craves but she definitely does. So in a way I want a found family too, a group of friends both canon and not who she can come to cherish and love fondly. Fruits Basket is all about acceptance, love and found family after all.

Info: A cybernetically-enhanced super soldier of a war long over, Juzo is a relic of the past trying to make a living as best he can. Determined to never be someone else’s tool again, he works as a “Resolver”, a part-PI, part-mercenary taking cases involving the Extended – people with cybernetics like his. Rarely seen without a cigarette clamped in steel teeth, Juzo is big, cold, and aloof, but don’t let his looks or demeanor fool you. Under all that metal and muscle beats a soft heart.

Desired CR: Pretty much anything! He doesn’t mind making enemies, and will insist that he doesn’t need friends or family while slowly collecting a small network of people he deeply cares about. Will absolutely dad at younger characters. People who have to get over his… uniqueness are just as welcome as those who take everything about him in stride.

Known Plans: Juzo was recently able to open his consulting agency, so if your character wants to hire him for something, feel free to swing by that post. I have a network post announcing all that in the works, to be going up in the next couple days. He’s also busy investigating the murder plot this month and having a run-in or two with Emet-Selch in that regard.

Otherwise, he’s just kind of around/can be around as needed. I can find an excuse for him to be just about anywhere if you need him.

Canon: Granblue Fantasy

Info: Typical stoic, aloof, silent elite agent soldier lone wolf type with the biggest soft spot for all things dog. His ideal is to live a life filled with peace and quiet, and so he fights to protect not only his peace but others as well. Eustace can be a bit rough, but he's softened up and can be amiable with those he's grown to trust and care for. Often compared to as a "guard dog" he is fiercely loyal to those close to him. He is skilled with guns, short blades, and grenades with his favored weapon being Flamek, a special rifle that can unleash lightning—though all that is kind of nerfed in Avalon. More detailed info on Eustace can be found here!

Magics & Familiar: Animal Magic/Elemental Magic with a mischievous snow wolf named Eria. He mainly specializes in canines for the animal magic and lightning magic for elemental, but he's dutifully training up both to expand his skills. The magic reload service upgrade to his gun also allows him to shoot lightning through it again, along with other elements as he's continue to train up and improve his skills (currently ice is working as a good secondary).

Desired CR: Honestly ANYTHING. From those Eustace can be soft on to those he'll be guarded against. Rivals would also be fun to keep some competition for him. He'll enjoy the company of those who are similarly quiet like him and dog lovers will definitely shoot up in favorability quickly. His patience will be tested towards the louder ones, but I'd welcome anyone with open arms, especially anyone who could push his buttons. Eustace has reached a point in his life where he's finally able to move on from the tragedy of his past and so I'd like to have him form new bonds and relationships so he can continue to open up more. Romance is tough for a guy like him, but one day... Maybe... /cries

Known Plans: Taking it easy this month so not too much, but Eustace will be heavily involved in the animal mage/hunting oriented tasks, particularly the Animal Mage Hunt. He's both an animal magic user and has ears that could make others mistake him as a victim of the curse, so he's not going to have a good time. Especially since he'll be injured later on that will limit his activity a bit. Anyone participating in the quest is free to target him! Just know he won't go down easy, and I'd prefer to do a little planning just to work out how fights would go down and potential injuries scored.

Info: A cheeky guy who got into trouble with the law in the past and earned himself a reputation as a nasty crime boy as a result. Desired CR: I'm pretty open here. Positive, negative, lukewarm mediocre business associates... I don't have any set plans, really, as far as what his CR looks like or what I want to achieve. I'm really just here to have fun, whatever that ends up entailing. Want to work towards being his best friend? Sure! Want to have a massive fight and they end up bitter enemies? I can do that, too! Want to "adopt" Keith as a little brother? Go for it. Want Keith to "adopt" your character as a sibling? I'm open to it. Keith has very little biological family in canon, and none currently in game, so he's used to building a family from people he meets. As for shipping, it's still kind of in the air, but I have some thoughts and ideas. I'd like to get him there eventually, but still working out a possible option with someone at the moment. That said, Keith would not handle a polyship well at all. He's too competitive and self-sacrificing. It would either turn into a constant contest for attention, or he'd get horribly jealous and self-conscious about the idea that he might get pushed out which would cause him to leave first even if no one wants him to because he doesn't want to get hurt.
Known Plans: I have an open post where most of my desired activities are already set up. If you want to do something that's not there, let me know! I'm open to additional ideas. Keith will be getting hurt during the animal mage hunting as he is one and will be targeted by would-be assassins looking for that quick Dark Web coin. So, if your character knows him and gets wind that he's down for the count, I'm also open to threading out visitations. I just didn't include a prompt for that on my post.
Other: Aug 5-9, I will be busy with Otakon things, so my responses may not be super quick or awesome, but I will be doing my best not to fall behind and make sure all my tags are done before leaving my apartment tomorrow morning. I will definitely be available for fast tagging next week, though, if my current mood holds and I don't swing back down into the dumps where I've been the past few months. (I do apologize for how flakey I've been lately... I'm hoping to be more active and involved going forward.)

Desired CR: Claire is open for friendships, relationships, frenemies, and just outright enemies. She's very emotionally open, she crushes VERY easily, and she's opinionated enough to rub some people the wrong way.
Known Plans: Claire just had a castmate (Sherry Birkin) drop, so she's not in the best mood. I do plan for Claire to make a post sometime in the next day or two, mostly to distract herself and re-motivate herself.
