There is a small earthquake during this (shaking, some things may fall off of shelves, but no structural damage) that upsets the normal arrival creatures, limiting cliff-falling rescues and sliming the water. They travel to Camelot, which is a multiple day journey, so they stop at the Red Springs along the way and stay at an inn there. A ⦿ Soaking in Your Arrival KERPLUNK, SPLASH! Regardless of what you were in the middle of, you and your familiar have been magically pulled into the world of Avalon just above the Bay's waters. After a brief plunge into the Bay, the rush of water filling your ears and soaking up into every creak and crevice of your body, you may need to cough to clear your airways when you rise above the surface. It's still chilly, but not enough that you can't manage on your own. The Lady of the Lake is swimming around under the water, helping to rescue any wayward travelers who look like they're struggling in the water. This month's helpers are giant pillow jellies, a species of jellyfish that is capable of ballooning itself at the surface to create bouncy pads for characters to hop across to the shore, should they choose or not be able to swim. They come in a variety of bioluminescent colors, but do not seem to be very talkative even to animal magic users. Those who try may find themselves being ignored, even if they hear the jellies talking amongst themselves about this and that. In the middle of the new arrivals, there is a small earthquake that shakes the island and makes the waters choppy. The jellyfish are startled and release a glow-in-the-dark slime that may dye your characters' hair and skin until they can get a proper bath. The Lady of the Lake seems disquieted by the earthquake, but there isn't much to be done about it where they are now besides make sure that everyone is outside of the water as quickly as possible. If anyone tries to ask the Lady of the Lake for directions, she will direct you to Archimedes at the Rent-a-Ride. The shores themselves are littered with new arrivals complaining their way up a staircase carved into the walls of the White Cliffs. There is no railing, so be careful, as the earthquake has scared the cliff beast into hiding, meaning for July's arrivals, there is no safety net. They may need some serious help if a fall occurs! *Reminder: Your character's familiar may or may not be with your character in their initial plunge. If the familiar isn't partial to water, it may meet your character on the beach or sit atop their head while they swim. Or if they are, they might splash about and swim alongside your character. Familiars have different personalities and body specs and we leave those up to the players. B ⦿ The Caravan to Camelot Once everyone is wrangled up to the top of the White Cliffs, the handsome owner of the Rent-a-Ride, Archimedes, will distribute smart phones, sunscreen, a pair of sunglasses, and a pair of ear buds and tell them to "Check the Shit Box." The "Shit Box" refers to wardrobe more formally known as the Wardrobe of Finding, a hammerspace-like wardrobe that opens to each person's items and pets when the person touches the handle. It was enchanted by Merlin to prevent people from having to fish their waterlogged possessions and pets out of the water with them. From there, Archimedes directs everyone to settle in groups into modernized carriages pulled by horses and gives them a basic explanation of why and how they've been brought to Avalon: The rest of the universe is frozen in time and your character has been brought here by a familiar that was able to bond with them. They'll have to learn magic to help save their own world from destruction, but first they've got to get them to Camelot. It is here that you have the first opportunity to decide who they will be in their new home. You'll have about an hour to wander around here, meet and greet, and pet the horses before it's time to go. These carriages use fae technology that combats weight, so your character will be able to get in regardless of whether they're light as a feather or weigh two tons. The carts have air conditioning when it's hot, heating when it's cold, and a mystical shield to protect from bugs. There is also a mini-bar that pops out of the console with nip bottles. Characters can use their smartphones to connect to Camelot's internet service, avalononline (AOL), to chat with other characters, watch dumb videos, learn about the world, contact Camelot Support (they'll answer any questions they can for you, from how to use a smart phone to where to find quests and resources to learn more about your magic). Be careful if you decide to use your phones while in the caravan-- if you don't use those earbuds and start forcing everyone to listen to your nonsense, Archimedes may make you walk. C ⦿ The Red Spring The journey from the White Cliffs to the City of Camelot is a long one, and the first evening you arrive you'll end up spending at the Red Spring, a booming resort town. Because of the volume of new arrivals and vacationers, inn rooms are assigned two-to-a-room. The rooms have two twin beds, a bathroom, a mini-fridge and microwave, and a TV equipped with a couple of entertaining video games and a few free movies. If you don't want to relax in the room, try taking a dip in the spring for another chance to meet your fellow travelers. The waters have restorative properties that help horses and travelers recover quickly when drunk. It is known to relieve stress, improve energy levels, and mildly accelerate healing. It may be a little chilly when you get out though, so make sure you don't slip rushing back indoors when you get out! The springs are also home to a large training grounds just outside town limits, where there are teachers who will teach basic magic safety and help you discover what kind of magic you have together with other new arrivals. Try target practice, obstacle courses, meditation circles, and other ways to try to figure out just what you can do... if you didn't already have an accidental discovery on the ride there. SUMMARY: Camelot throws a carnival to combat the warming up weather featuring "cool" foods and contests, Queen Elphame sent gifts of aquatic mounts to practice in gratitude for the offering and peacemaking with Celliwig, and the clean-up for the carnival goes haywire as cleaning implements magically seek to clean everything. Thankfully, not every minute of Avalon is adventure and trials and rituals. There are moments of respite, and moments to have fun. This July, for example, locals have decided to invite everyone to what they're calling the "Cool Down Carnival"! A ⦿ Cool Carnival, Bruh Vendors of all kinds have taken to selling cooling goods throughout the carnival grounds. Shaved ice, frozen yogurt, gelato, ice cream, iced tea and boba drinks are everywhere, and each and every vendor is vying for the attention of customers. Whether it's coupons for free snacks if they fill out a punch card for all three days of the carnival, or trying out their new, more magical recipes of frozen slush that make you temporarily behave like a penguin and try belly-sliding down a slip-n-slide that's been set up to occupy the unfortunate victims of that slush (It wears off, don't worry.) Perhaps most notably is the Margaritaville Pair Challenge. If you and an acquaintance can down a giant schooner of frozen margarita in less than a minute together, you'll both get a free happy hour item once a day for the next month from the restaurant and they'll do you a solid and teach you (Recipe) Hangover Moveover, a recipe that instantly cures hangovers. The brain freeze caused by downing that much frozen drink is yours to deal with, unfortunately... B ⦿ Surf New Turf In the evening, the fae folk of the carnival crew lead the way to uproot the party off toward the docks near Camelot. The Elphame Traders came back this past month with good tidings from Queen Elphame, who was impressed both with the gift of a ship and the winning over of Celliwig's people. To this end, a second ship was sent with the Elphame Traders to provide a means of transportation to the faery Kingdom of Elphame without passing through the Forest of the Felled: aquatic mounts. However, they aren't exactly easy for anyone who isn't an animal mage and will require practice before anyone can set out. You'll need at least one person to steer and one person to act as a combatant, as the lake north of the arrival point is more than a little treacherous but that will be a journey for another day. (Maybe the 20th? Stuff seems to coincidentally always happen around then, huh... Weird.) For now, the fae who stayed behind from the Elphame Traders this month are sticking around to help you find a partner and an aquatic mount that gets along with the two of you. Most of the creatures who have agreed to be mounts are hanging out alongside he beach near the old docks, so you can go around and check out the different kinds of available mounts: Alpacapies: Cousin to the much more violent water horse fae the Kelpies, Alpacapies have been mistaken for baby loch ness monsters on more than one occasion given their penchant for sitting with just their hump and long neck above the waterline. They can be ridden in the water and tend to bond with people who are polite to them upon greeting. They will assist in combat by spitting water at their enemies or kicking with front legs, but they may shake you off if they need to deep dive to gain speed for an attack. They do not have back legs, only a dolphin-like fin. For some reason, they're really impossible to take photographs of. Mossatees: You're familiar with the mossatee already. A special breed of manatee that grows flowers and moss on its back like a miniature garden. They blossom in the spring, and their backs can be very comfortable. They're a little clumsy and tend to run into things, both accidentally and on purpose, so it may be a bit of a derpy ride if you and your partner choose a mossatee. They also just had a lot of children, so part of riding with them will mean protecting their young on the journey. They're not good in combat and will prioritize defense. Deinosuchus: A Cretaceous crocodile that gets up to about 10 meters long. It's huge and carnivorous and very well could eat you if you piss it off. It is fast, but has to take a lot of breaks. It will also terrorize in a fight. The fae recommend bringing it a goat or some other similarly sized meal to get it on your side if you want to go for this one. This pack is the only one left, transported by fairies to Avalon long, long ago, so you'd better not let them down. Once you've found a mount that seems right, try to practice balancing on its back. They don't much like saddles so that may be a challenge, but if you hold onto your partner it might be easier! Once you're settled, try racing against another pair or going through a Survivor-esque obstacle course with your mounts. C ⦿ Clean Up Chaos As people head out for the second day of practice with their mounts or recover from a crazy carnival experience, things around town... seem a little off. It seems like someone tried some experimental magic after competing in the Margaritaville challenge feeling particularly benevolent. All around Camelot, cleaning utensils have taken on a life of their own. Brooms are sweeping customers right out of restaurants, sponges are scrubbing up dishes and chasing down patrons for the most public sponge baths of their life, and the local woodland creatures are assisting in picking up and taking away anything that touches the floor that ought not to be there. Some are even hopping up on residents to do their hair! Whatever the source is, the only solution is to either destroy or scare the cleaning supplies off to the woods before they take over the whole town! A little magic should help, so why not test out the magic you've been working on since arriving in Avalon? SUMMARY: The earthquake busted some of the Land of Rot wards and zombies are attacking Camelot's farmland. Save the farm, restore the wards, fight a giant worm, and then find a mysterious marsh before getting transported back home just as mysteriously. The earthquake on arrival day was a little frightening, but ultimately didn't seem to cause too much trouble around New Camelot. That is, until a few days later when the farmlands seem to be under attack.. by the undead!? It seems like the wards surrounding the Lands of Rot were disrupted by the earthquake near Camelot's northeast farmland. ' A ⦿ The Farming Dead Step one is to fight the hoard of zombies spilling out into the farm and stop them before they contaminate Camelot's food source. Use whatever means you can to dispense of the undead, keeping the following in mind: death mages are going to be the most effective combatants against the undead, but anyone can follow the basic rules of zombies to clear a path. Loud noises attract their attention, they shamble during the day and can move more quickly during the night, they don't feel pain so if you hurt the they won't be deterred-- you have to kill them, and always double-tap if you aren't sure. Just be careful not to set them on fire. Flaming zombies can spread fires to buildings and other surroundings and are just generally worse than regular zombies! Once the zombies are cleared out, farmworkers will bring out gifts of fresh lemonade and some extra mixed herb seeds they gathered throughout the year. They're still good, please take them as a thanks for helping save the farm! B ⦿ Of Wards and Worms After searching the perimeter of the Land of Rot, sources have found that the wards were damaged on the west side, so the zombies haven't fully penetrated any areas but the farm. Pair up with another person to draw the attention of the zombies away from wards while the other person resets the wards. While doing this, you'll find the earth is rumbling again-- a little heavier this time since you're much closer than back in the Bay of Avalon. Rather suddenly, a huge sinkhole opens up in the desert landscape of the Land of Rot nearby... and out leaps a thousand-toothed worm, flying through the air and diving back toward the ground teeth-first... with your character right in its target location! Maybe you're lucky and get out of the way only to get knocked down by another huge tremor, or maybe you've just been swallowed whole by a giant worm and really, really need to find a way out for you and your partner! Maybe you'll find something interesting while you think... Is that a broken boat in here? Hopefully you find your way out (or.. if you don't, you find someone to resurrect you, but that would really suck if you just arrived!) C ⦿ Wake Me Up Before You're Go-Gone First zombies, then a giant worm... today's been exhausting! And now you're.. somewhere in the middle of the Land of Rot and you seem to have run into some kind of marsh that you don't remember passing on your way in. The water itself is murky and the only creatures around seem to be bugs, bats, snakes, and frogs. Everything seems sickly, rotting, and is pretty awfully stinky. But none of it is quite as terrifying as when you and whoever you wandered into the Land with stumble upon what appears to be some kind of old hag. What happens next? Who knows. She screams and both you and whoever you're with pass out and wake up snuggling in an inn room. You were definitely in that marsh though, because your pants are still sopping from trudging through it... Well, enjoy the panic, maybe interrogate your neighbors, and try to find out where in the Land of Rot you were! It sure doesn't seem to be on the map... What a mystery! [The water is certainly a rude awakening - not that she'd been asleep, but she finds herself abruptly having to process giant jellyfish that mimicked pillows, an earthquake, and reaching an unknown shore with her pale hair and skin dyed by the startled animals. Bothersome enough that there's no towel provided to even at least dry off.]

[Still, she'll take her time; wringing out her hair allows the sun to begin drying her clothes, and the dark color of her attire draws light to it, meaning it would only be a matter of minutes.]

[Perhaps her unfamiliarity would draw people to speak to her - if not, she would make her way up the cliffs to try getting some vantage point soon enough.]

B + The Red Spring - Taking a Dip

[After washing that dye off, the doctor had taken a moment to look around and come to terms with being in a new world. Whether or not they were telling the truth of her own being frozen, that was debatable. Until she had the chance to look into it or ask around, that would remain in limbo.]

[For now, she felt like soaking and thinking, and fortunately, her new destination provided.]

[If it was occupied - well, that person suddenly had a new companion. On the other hand, she might be the one there first, her familiar draped around her neck while she sat quietly.]

C + The Red Spring - Training Grounds

[It made sense this was the only method to really train her 'new' magic - one might think a place that bolstered such interesting technological (or perhaps it was magic mainly?) advancements, they'd have training dummies even for this much.]

[It made her wonder if they even had dummies for CPR training.]

[Suddenly, a character in the midst of training sporting minor injuries might find themselves interrupted.]

[She might've only learned the beginning basics of healing magic, but it was still enough to be applied to aiding the apparent fever outbreak. Nothing too threatening, but there were only so many hands on deck that the growing number of people being treated meant this would take some time. Good thing she was ready to work; however...]

[She may have said that to her departing training partner for the day, but Homura did eventually wince when she was sure no more prying eyes were on her, clutching her side. Felt good to train, the sole reason her smile had yet to falter. Though good lord, taking on that blow to use such a powerful counter did smart like hell. So focused was she on trying to recover from the pain did she notice another person approaching.]

Healer or a fan? Fine either way, though I could use the former over the latter.

a. [ itaru's a little lost and dazed at first when he fell upon the lake, but it doesn't take him long to realize the situation he's found himself in. despite the earthquake that shook this curious world just then he kept ooh-ing and ahh-ing along the way, and he doesn't care if he forgot how to act like his age right now. like, who can even resist? he may be cringe, but he's finally free.

but what finally made him go over the moon is meeting his fated familiar. gwen almost acts like the imaginary itaru's grew up with when he was a lonely little kid, although a little more naggy and looking a lot less like izumi when he had that crazy ass dream a while back, but she's delighted to meet itaru nonetheless. still wanting to make sure that he's not hallucinating about his imaginary friend, itaru turns to anyone who'd approach this pair and ask: ]

Hey. You can see her too, right?

[ "hey!!" fairy!izumi, er, gwen pouts while hovering in the air, giggling to herself a moment later. yeah, yeah, she can let him have this. ]

[ just because itaru's elated to be here doesn't meant that his social battery has changed for the better. donning a pair of shades and headphones, he plants himself on one of the tables with a giant umbrella on it and... fiddles with his phone. he bought some boba with him and gwen so that they won't die from the heat, but he's going to keep to himself for a while.

he won't be talking much unless someone approaches him for a little chat, but. well. it is getting hot and all, and most of the covered seats in the area might be taken except his. he won't mind sharing tables with a total stranger for a while. ]

b. I told you, I already took a bath today!!

[ or at least that's what itaru thinks as to why soapy sponges are suddenly chasing him down?! gwen's doing her best in keeping up with him as he runs, yelling at him to "use your magic already!!"

...somehow he forgot that he can do that now in the midst of all this excitement, lmao. so he skids to a stop and turns around, a hand positioned over his right eye in that quintessential chuunibyou pose. he hasn't gotten quite the hang of his powers just yet, but it can't be that hard, right? he's literally got the power of all 3485735 elements and anime on his side. can't go wrong with that. ]

Oh turbulent winds, heed my call!

[There's been quite a lot of commotion, what with all the cleaning supplies running rampant, that it would take a lot to catch their attention. Striking a ridiculous pose and... Calling upon the wind? is, somehow, enough to do that.

The most impressive thing is this guys complete lack of actual ability. They can't even get mad about the sponge that's currently making its way down their face.]

01. Cold Water

Maya wasn’t drunk enough for this. How the heck did she get here, she needed to drink way more to black out. This was a low key grad party not any of her self-destructive binges of trauma. She was doing okay.

But- well, here she was, in the water and covered in glow in the dark slime. Terrific. She foun shore, and started to swim for it. Dragging herself out of the water, looking around. Debating if it finally happened, has she completely lost all track of reality? “Where am I?”

02. Old Town Road

Maya didn’t arrive with much, just her laptop, phone, backpack, and headphones. She felt a little uneasy without any instruments. And also a weird world with magic. What is this, why is this?

Still, she did the only thing that made sense to her, at this moment, to cope. Put her big noise cancelling headphones on and listened to music. She’s going to just zone completely out until anyone in the carriage with her touches her to sharply return her to reality.

03. Hotel California

Maya’s basically unable to process, any of this, until she gets to her room. She doesn’t pay attention to her roommate, she just falls into one of the beds and stews inside her own head. Letting the thoughts work around and try to fit into something she can handle.

Something okay.

She does look rather pathetic and small doing this, whatever new lease on her sanity she had has slipped a little and she doesn’t move at all while she lays there and tries to get through her own thoughts. Might be good to check on her.

04. Numb (CW: Minor self-destructive behavior.)

Maya’s been, politely, directed toward the hot springs by multiple people in the hotel because she looks like a disaster. Cold and distant from anything going on around her. She’s never been one for hot water but she really has no other ideas, and usually listens to others when she gets like this.

Naked, with her towel on the edge, Maya slips into the water. And quickly lets her head slip under as she holds her breath, letting herself get as close to drowning as she cares to. To see what she feels in the process. She’ll come up before she needs to breathe, but anyone around should probably get her out of there due to the heat.

05. Summertime Sadness

Her world, and everyone she knows, is frozen on the brink of oblivion. Her parents, her sister, her friends. All the people she can’t let anything happen to so far out of reach for her help. She can’t bring them here, and she can’t sink into that timeless abyss with them.

And the locals are throwing a carnival?

A part of her understands, you can’t fight all the time. But to her this timing just feels cruel. Shouldn’t they be doing something, about the world as it is? Instead of having summer fun. Still, until she figures out how magic works… she’ll just sit in the corner, under some shade, watching the people move. Not willing to involve herself, but not willing to sulk in her room on such a nice day.

Primarily because it is too damn hot to be inside.

He liked festivals immensely, enjoying the feeling of people simply celebrating being alive. Or whatever else they felt the need to hold festivities for. It made things all the more lively and helped to show what the community as whole enjoyed and their general traditions.

So what's up with the small, sad girl sitting in the corner acting all edgy. Excuse the hulking mountain of muscle, scars and tattoos approaching and looking scary as all hell.

It takes a bit of effort, what with their clothes weighing them down, but they get to the shoreline eventually. If anyone noticed they're failed attempts to hop across the jellyfish - which wouldn't be hard, because that splash was quite impressive - but they drag themselves out, stained bright green, and they just... Lower themself to the ground.]

That fucking sucked.

[It's not taking Kitten long to find the frozen slush that makes people act like penguins. They spend a little bit watching the people on the slip-n-slide, hand over their mouth to hide their grin. Watching people make fools of themselves... It's really not something that can be beat. They wonder what would happen if two people-penguins crashed, or how this could be even better.

They look towards the crowd of people walking around, before making a move to sling their arm over some unsuspecting person's shoulder.]

( it's not exactly like the slate that he's used to wielding in tandem with a sword, but it's close enough? there's only one function that he's familiar with and that's the ability to take pictures. they don't exactly identify things but that's okay! link's happy to make do with what he's got. ignoring most of what he's been given, like the earbuds and the sunscreen, link's more than happy to put on the shades as he plays around with his phone.

how? well, by taking pictures! the best part is that the smartphone is smaller than what he's used to, meaning it's easier for him to take selfies. flipping the camera around, he's not afraid to get whoever's riding with him in the photo before turning it back over in his hand so he can show his neighbor the picture.

i. ( there's no challenge too harrowing for link to take on, and this is why he's already in front of the frozen drink inside of the giant schooner, giving it a proper sizing up. yes--- it's crossed his mind that he could try to go this challenge alone, but if there's anything link already knows about consuming incredibly cold foods without thinking, it's that one will certainly find themselves at the end with chattering teeth and a horrible headache. so maybe splitting up the drink will keep him from having to deal with a particularly chilly hangover?

that means... he needs to scout for a partner. but it's easier than he thinks when link spots someone else looking at the same glass that's in front of him, and the hylian immediately takes notice. with a big, friendly smile, he gestures toward it with one hand then points at himself before pointing at whoever happened to make eye contact with the beaming hero and the challenge in front of him. )

ii. ( between the three types of animals around, it's the mossatee that gets link's attention. why? well, it's because of how round it is and how beautiful the garden is on its back! not to mention that he's able to have a lovely conversation with one particular one, whose children are also rolling about around the two of them. something about wanting to help protect the babies as they travel to the kingdom through the water, saving them the trouble of traversing through a forest.

find link quietly enjoying a chat using his limited ability to communicate, as he quietly strokes one of the young mossatee's in his lap. he finds it way more comfortable talking to an animal than a person, which is why he looks at ease with a smile on his face that doesn't completely diminish when he looks in your character's direction... )

[I] THE CARAVAN TO CAMELOT;

[When people begin piling into the carriage Machi had aimed for a back corner. Instead she gets stuck somewhere closer to the front and though she has a rather blank expression for the most part the observant might notice the furrow of her brow. Her school uniform looks lightly damp still as does her hair but there's a fairly good sized dark furred creature curled around her shoulders, tucked under her hair with all five of it's tails waving lazily on one side and it's head settled against the other.

She had wanted time and quiet to consider all of this but everything was such a rush and bustle that she ends up having to make some close 'acquaintances' very quickly. Mostly because she's crammed right up against someone else, literally shoulder to shoulder. And the creature one might recognize as a kitsune just won't stop swishing it's tails.

It takes Machi a moment to realize her familiar is likely slapping her neighbor with it's tails and the flusters, the bland composure of her face breaking as she reaches up to smooth the tails to one side and closer to her body.]

Sorry.

[Her voice is bears the faintest tinge of a stutter. Machi's been so thrown out of her element she can't help it.]

[II] COOL CARNIVAL, BRUH

[A] [The carnival might be the most familiar thing Machi's seen since she arrived. Well near to the springs anyhow which is thoroughly enjoyed, thank you. Some of the items like the gelato she's never had before and while she would like to try it she's a little baffled by the list of flavors. There are so many for a simple vendor at a carnival and in spite of her level, even expression she sort of... sparkles? She looks interested anyhow.

Machi eventually glances over to someone nearby her who happens to be eating the same thing. Would they mind if she asked them what flavor they had? Or recommended?]

[B] [On the third day of the carnival though all of the food tryouts between Machi and the ever present black kitsune that rides draped across her shoulders has resulted in the teenager having a wealth of coupons. There's no way she can eat this much so eventually she bucks up the nerve near one of the vendors she has coupons for to approach someone in line.]

Excuse me.

[Her voice is gentle and when whomever it is she's approached looks over she'll gesture out the coupons silently. Then she seems to realize she ought to say something too.]

I have too many so I didn't want the rest to go to waste.

( Arrival was... annoying. Traveling was... also annoying!!! The fact he has a talking cat— bakeneko, he corrects himself, because it's extremely stubborn about the difference...

That's also a little annoying, but he has a soft spot for kitties. Shiro's content as long as he gets the white bakeneko a shaved ice here and there to share, and Yuki idly pets its head as he strolls around the festival. One of these treats is a little more on the magical side though, and while Yuki doesn't partake in it...

His familiar isn't so lucky, and it also has claws, actually, so mind the fairly large white cat with the extra long tail sailing down the slip-n-slide with its sharps out-stretched, yowling happily(?). Yuki's on standby at the bottom with what rudimentary healing magic he learned he can do while on the way here, though he looks so Done as he moves over to the next injured-by-his-familiar person. )

Can't you guys just get out of the way...? ( it isn't that easy, and he knows it, but hello! ) I swear, everyone that goes down this slide is useless.

( ...The quest doesn't seem too hard, and yeah, Yuki saw "teddies" and immediately hopped over. Shiro is resting on some fabric he isn't using for now, and instead of delivering them, Yuki is... making them look Much Cuter.

But you are going to be delivering them to patients, so as soon as he's satisfied with the accessories and outfit on one of these cute little toys — the rare Yuki Smile of approval, even — he's shoving it some poor quest-goer's way. Not with a smile, because only kids and cute things get that. )

We need to think about this logically.

[ Monika was sitting before the giant glass containing all that Margarita. She was staring at it as if she was evaluating the resistance of an enemy in some kind of J-RPG. She wasn't even sure why she'd accepted this challenge, but if she was to do it, it had to be perfect. She then turned to whoever her partner for the challenge was. ]

If we share it, we'll both be completely out of it by the time it's done and pass out before getting our reward. And even if we manage it, we'll both be in for an absolute hell till the effects clear out. [She rose a finger.] But I think I can drink all of it and survive.

[ It was a matter of just drinking and drinking non-stop without letting her brain the time to process what she was doing. As far as she knew, her resistance to alcohol was laughable. But if she could drink all of it before the effects took over... A sacrifice for victory. ]

You claim the prize and quickly make me a Hangover Moveover, then give it to me before I make an embarrassment out of myself. [She beams.] And we get to have our month of free happy hour item without having to go absolutely delirious!


II/ Clean-Up Chaos
[ Is it time for magic? It's time for magic! And Monika's pretty good at it actually. But unfortunately, one of those creatures or utensils decided to hop onto her head to take care of her hair. ]

H-Hey, don't touch that!

[ Off is the bow holding her hair together. Urgh, that sucks. She can't even do anything about it from her position. So she approaches the nearest person who may be able to do something about it before that thing decides it's faster to cut her hair than to take care of them. ]

Ah, excuse me but could you... [She points at her hair nervously.] Help with that?


III/ Of Wards and Worms
[ Well, that's it. She's dead. Again. Nothing but darkness all around her. Of course, you can't expect for a giant worm to strike at you and survive. Is she back in the digital void...? That's the only explanation, right? Nope, or she'd already feel its effects.

Thinking about it, it's realm warm where she is... Very stinky... And why does it feel like she's walking on some disgusting gooey stuff? Oh no. Oh no no no. Did... That thing swallow her?! She realizes the Pinocchio comparisons with what she is are pretty obvious, but now that's pushing it. ]

H-Hey, is there someone in here?

[ She had to remain calm. Not panic. There had been many of them, surely there were others in there. She couldn't be the only one to have been swallowed, but they could be far... Better scream to make sure she is heard. ]

[Unfortunately, Monika wasn't alone. The giant worm had a few special guests. Mainly the zombies being distracted. They started to rise as they heard Monika's voice, drawn to it, making their own presence known with their loud groans. Yet just as they nearly made their way towards her, a figure in the shadows darted around them.

Steel cutting flesh was the only other sound, twin swords swiftly lobbing their heads off, the heads themselves suddenly combusting from the fire the new player cast.

By the time she was done, Monika could likely see more of her, especially as fire erupted from each sword to brighten the area. Homura had been on the scene, though had looked in better shape, given how some of the good got all over her clothes.]

Just me. I think only the two of us got swallowed by that thing.

Anyone who views the chaos of all the cleaning equipment having taken on a life of its own may find Minako there, sitting on the ground, with a whole bunch of woodland creatures currently looking through and climbing over her hair. The teenage girl looks so defeated. ]

[ So... something to know about Eri... she hasn't had the chance to ever learn how to swim. She's six, so considering how the majority of her life has been, swimming wasn't exactly something she could ever really begin to think about.

So... Avalon's preference in dropping it's arrivals into water right at the start is... not the best for this poor six year old. She's plopped rather unceremoniously into the water, and... ]

A-Ah! H-Help!!

[ There's a lot of kicking and flailing, but since she can't swim, it doesn't do much to keep her head above water. Fortunately, the pillow jellies are here to save the day as they lift her above water again. ]

E-Eh... w-where am I...?

[ The glowing pillow jellies start to float up, creating a path that she can easily hop across... but that still doesn't answer any of her questions, and she's a little scared. Wasn't she just at UA just a second ago? What's happened? Where is everyone?

You might spot the soaked girl from the shore as she eventually decides that sitting here on the pillow jelly won't get her anywhere, so she starts to hop across each jelly, one at a time. She's got both of her arms out so that she can balance herself with each hop, almost falling over a few times, but managing to right herself. Of course, this does mean that she's making pretty slow progress. ]

[2] The Red Spring

[ Unfortunately, she'd taken a bit too long to get onto shore, and so the earthquake hit while she was still on the jellies. The result? There's a part of her face around her left eye (along with some of her hair) that got sprayed by one of them, and now that area of skin (along with that part of her hair) has ended up getting dyed blue until she can wash it off.

Except... she has no idea what to do next. ]

Um... ah...

[ There's just... a small child now standing in the lobby not sure what to do next. She'd gotten on the caravan to get here and all, but... she's six. What do you mean two to a room? What rooms? Also, she needs a bath to get this weird blue stuff off of her...

So now there's just... a small girl on the verge of tears off to the side of the lobby. Where are her friends? Where are the people she recognizes? Why won't this blue stuff come off no matter how hard she rubs? What's all this talk about magic? Why is this happening to her? ]

[3] Cool Carnival, Bruh

[ Despite the not-so-great method of arrival... this is fun! It's unbearably hot, but there's so many sweet things to try that just so happen to be cold! The only thing that'd make it all better would be if they had Candy Apples, but stuff like the Shaved Ice, the Ice Cream, and the 'new recipes' of frozen slush will do!

Speaking of the new recipes... yeah, Eri's had some, and... well, it's had the exact effect that it's having on everyone else. Behold, Penguin Eri-chan!

Which... isn't exactly too much of a difference aesthetically, but she is walking around with her arms straight down her sides but at an angle... and she's even waddling a bit! All in all, it's not that big of a change, but she is eyeing that slip'n'slide. ]

[B. The Caravan to Camelot]

[So alot has happened in the last couple of hours. Tsuzuru suddenly found himself plunged into a body of water. The last thing he remembered Kazunari told him to take a nap and he would let him know when dinner was ready. He fell asleep then woke up in water with a kuda-gitsune waiting for him when he finally got on the shore. He didn't think those spirits were real, just a tale he heard when he was a kid, now that same fox sat next to him. After being confused, he figured out that the kuda-gitsune was with him and he needed to find where to go. Once he dried his clothes, his new friend helped him get to carriage. He wasn't expecting the modern items in the carriage, so the carriage ride wasn't too bad.

Once Tsuzuru flipped through the smartphone he placed it in his lap then leaned back with a small sigh. At least he didn't have to worry about walking to his new home. Oh, wait, there was someone else with him. Tsuzuru opened his eyes and gave a polite smile.]

Sorry, it's been a long day. Hi, how are you?

[C. The Red Spring]

[Tsuzuru arrived to the inn with the kuda-gitsune resting in the hood of his hoodie. The spirit didn't feel heavy so he didn't mind very much even if it would take some time to get used to. He opened the door and walked around the room. Okay, it's not as old as he imagined it. For a place that looked like it came right out of a movie about knights, it was more modern than he expected. Once he looked around the room he left to go explore.

Tsuzuru rubbed the kuda-gitsune's head on his walk. It looked really nice, he's still wondering how he got reception with this phone, but it probably good not to question it. He stopped when he found the hot spring. Well, taking a soak wouldn't be too bad it's not like he hasn't work to do.]

Hey, I'm going to be at the springs for awhile. Did you want to join me? Wait, can you join me?

[The kuda-gitsune rubbed their cheek against Tsuzuru's hand. He rubbed the kuda-gitsune's head with a smile.]

I'll be back in the room soon, okay?

[The kuda-gitsune nodded, untangled their body from his arm, and floated back to the room. Tsuzuru didn't have to worry about breaking a rule or where the spirit would be. He walked in the spring, changed, then got into the water. He sighed softly as he brushed his fingers through the water. So, he was in a strange land, with a spirit as a companion, and he doesn't know how he's going to get back home. It's like he's part of Itaru's light novels.

What would he do now?

If someone is there he's not sleeping! If he's alone he will close his eyes for a bit.]

[C. Cool Carnival, Bruh]

[A carnival! It's been awhile since he went to a carnival. It had all the things he would find back home too. What kind of place did he end up in? If it looked like food from home, would it taste the same too? He decided to try some boba first. It really did taste like something from home! After he received the punch card from the vendor, he walked around with the kuda-gitsune peeking out of his hood.]

What should I try next?

[ it's not the most welcoming of arrivals. the plunder into dark waters almost filling his lungs, managing to at least reach shore without too much panic. even as he stands there with his green cloak in hand while twisting and trying to squeeze the water clinging to the fabric. a displeased expression settled on his features, especially when he glances over to a rather large looking eagle perched nearby who seems to be watching him very closely. ]

[ apparently the familiar had said something, but now merely fluffs up its feathers with a crown of them on top of its head lifting in apparent amusement. the Mercenary grumbles afterward, tugging at his hair tie to shake his short brown wet hair now. ]

From the manor to this... really?

B.) [ though the journey to red springs has been mostly silent from the Mercenary, perhaps of the brooding intimidating kind, he isn't exactly unfriendly. even if he certainly looks unapproachable.

at least it makes for a funny sight when he enters the two-to-a room with his eagle familiar perched on his shoulders. with a man of his.. smaller stature, it's a humorous sight. not that Naib lets it bother him. almost shrugging the eagle off as it beats its wings to steady itself to perch on one of the twin bed's headboard.

it's only after he does that and starts working on his elbow pads does he address the other person- his "roommate." ]

Don't pay him any mind. He won't bother you.

[ the experience of being an ex-soldier and Mercenary comes with ease. wielding his Gurkha blade expertly as he twirls it in one hand, nudging the collapsed corpse of the zombie to ensure it's actually dead. perhaps it'll be some issue for a new arrival to deal with something like this.. so suddenly. however, Naib rides on the thrill of a battlefield, and though zombies aren't nearly as competent in dealing with another person- it still gives the same kind of battle excitement that he thrives on. ]

Hey. Have any experience with resetting the wards? [ though his familiar watches from nearby, that solid connection providing him with the abilities needed.. he isn't confident in it. not as confident as he is with gathering zombies, dealing with them, and killing. he wipes at the gunk sticking to his blade. ] I can deal with the zombies if you can help me out with that.

[ Monika's already in the room by the time he arrives and she's very busy... Touching and examining every single last thing. Going from a small reality to such an expensive one, how couldn't she be fascinated?

She's put a movie on TV too, Die Soft. The sorry of a cop named Cohn McJlane trapped in a big tower with terrorists on Halloween. Right now is the scene where the terrorists find one of their own dead in the elevator, wearing a pumpkin head and with a shirt saying "now I have a minigun, ah ah ah." Looks like a great movie, really. ]

[Well, this is certainly one way to wake up.

Being suddenly plunged into water, rescued by giant jellyfish, and an earthquake. There isn't much of a chance for Nagiko to properly processed what's going on or where she is, but she was grateful for the rescue from the jellies, even when she got sprayed with jellyfish goo. Drenched in water and colorful hair stained with green goo, she made her way over to the shore, wringing one of her pigtails.]

Aww gee, the goo's everywhere. My hair's ruined.

[A frown tugs the corner of her lips. She'll find out where she is later. For now, she's looking to dry off first. And also get these goo off her.]

ii - Margaritaville Pair Challenge

[Nagiko got her eyes on the frozen margarita challenge. While she has yet to make friends here, she doesn't have any qualm partnering with someone she doesn't know. In fact, she goes straight towards the first person who looks old enough to drink. Nagiko standing before them (your character) with a beaming and expectant smile.]

[Apparently she's decided (all on her own, honestly) that you're participating the challenge with her. Whether you have any interest in it or not.]

iii - The Farming Dead

[Zombies... You know she thought she got out of the horror movie tropes after what happened at the summer camp, but apparently not! This is certainly a huge issue for a newcomer to deal with, but Nagiko isn't afraid as she swings a baseball bat at a zombie shambling towards her. She still hasn't had the grasp for either one of her magic, although one of two is useless in this scenario, her Servant advantages are gone, and she hardly has much combat experience. But she's still going to try her best to clear these zombies invading this farm.]

Watch out!

[She struck at a zombie who's encroaching at another person's blind spot, its head comes flying off easily. That one is dead for sure.]

iv - Of Wards and Worms

[It happened a little too fast but as soon as she realized it, she's already surrounded by darkness. Nothing but darkness, a very stinky smell, and a gross, mushy feeling. Nagiko is suddenly struck with panic.]

Oh no no no no no. This is a big problem. Huge problem. [She can't be the only unlucky one to be swallowed, right? Panic swelling up in her chest, she's looking around to hopefully find if someone else in here and desperately calls out.] Um... H-hey! Anyone here!

[Well this was an annoying situation to get caught up in. Stuck inside a giant worm. Well he's been through worse when alive. If anything it reminds him more of when he fought off all those sea monsters during his race with Breca.

The main difference being that now he wasn't alone in being nearly devoured alive.]

[His voice was gruff and annoyed when he called back. Congrats Nagiko, you probably just lucked out?]

Arrival: Making a splash
It was a sudden plunge, not one that Haruka was expecting. But then through the years adjusting to suddenly finding yourself in an unexpected position had become normal. Michiru might have been the expert in the water, but Haruka wasn't a slouch at swimming either, making it to the shore quickly and easily enough. It's only once on the shore, running a hand through the blonde hair to dry it out, that Haruka looks back out into the water to ensure that no one else needs any help.

Completely soaked, there would be no saving the pants or top that Haruka was wearing, though thankfully they were dark enough to where there wasn't a problem. Walking over to someone else that had just made it out Haruka reached out a helping hand.

"Seems that we've washed up together in this dream."

Arrival. On the way to camelot
Thankful for a dry change of clothes and at least a few familiar items, though the keys to her car didn't seem like it would be a useful item here, Haruka climbed into the carriage. Sitting off to the side, Haruka once again brushed back her hair giving her a boyish appearance as she flipped through the smartphone that had been provided.

"Camelot huh? I guess this means I get to be a knight of the round table."

Familiar with the legends of the king, and having seen the holy grail on more than a single instance, it was a rather interesting idea. That there was a minibar included was an unexpected twist, but not something to complain about.

Fun in the Sun: Cool Carnival
Haruka had gotten the basics down at least, having spent a few hours training. And then a day getting caught on everything with the figure drifting next to her. It seemed that the sylph was something that she was able to hear though others didn't seem to catch more than a faint whisper of a breeze.

"So there's someone here that I'm supposed to meet?"

Looking around Haruka sipped the boboa tea from one of the vendors, looking at the various options of what there was to do. You would think with it being a carnival there would have been a few games set up or something. At least something that didn't involve subjecting yourself to brain freeze.

"Guess I just have to be cool, and see who it is."

Fun in the Sun: Clean up Chaos
So Haruka wasn't the best about cleaning the house, but that didn't mean that someone else ever needed to pick up after them. So when the napkin hit the floor and was immediately swept away it was a little annoying, only for Haruka to sit up and find the plate being carried away with the rest of the utensils before even finishing the meal.

"No fair, I'm not done with that yet."

Reaching out Haruka grabbed the dish before it managed to get completely out of reach.

"I said I'm not done yet."

Arrival

Says a bored voice, already getting stuck in the drinks at the said bar and toying around with his phone. Large fingers pressing against the screen with some trouble. While a glass, dwarfed by his other large hand, was cradled gently. In short, the guy is huge and an overly imposing sight covered in scars and tattoos.

"But I guess the whole experience and chance to become one can be exciting."

A – The Caravan

[A large man, shirtless and covered in scars, sat at the mini bar, attempting to flip through his given phone. Or at least as best as he could. His large fingers were having some trouble typing on the screen. With a glass in his other hand, just as small as the phone, Beowulf takes a sip; gaze growing darker and more annoyed by the second. With a click of his tongue the sipping soon turns into a gulp before he quickly reaches out to grab a whole bottle.]

Was never good with these things.

B - Red Springs

[So these springs not only had good food, decent baths and beds, but also a place for people to train their bodies. Or at least that's what he thought when he first heard about the training grounds, imagine his disappointment when it was simply for people to learn the basics of this land's magic. While Beowulf certainly wasn't one to overlook the value of such things, magic had never been his strong suite. In fact if anything he would rather avoid such things all together.

Cursed as they are.

In any case he had quickly returned to the inn and made himself comfortable in one of the baths. Hopefully no one is startled by the giant, hulking and glowering man entering the springs. One that is very unintentionally giving off some pretty murderous vibes and looking like a deadly predator about ready to spring loose.]

[Oh snap he's also talking to you, he's looking at you with eyes that are both menacing and looking like your his next meal!]

C- for Carnival

[He really did enjoy festivals, seeing people going about, having fun and enjoying themselves was all a pleasure in and of itself to him. As odd as that might be to hear about from him. But it was true; maybe it was a holdover from his days as being a non-tyrannical king. Or at least as non-tyrannical as a king could be, he thought. Either way, it was always a joy to see people simply enjoying being alive. Especially when celebrating the warmer months.

Beowulf himself was taking his time in enjoying everything he could. From bouncing between stalls. Grabbing different foods and drinks, as well as messing with a few of the strongman challenges here and there.

Anyone he catches sulking about would immediately be honed in on. And anyone that needed help with one of the carnival's challenges would immediately finds themselves a very big, and very scary, friend.]

Punching out Giant Worms

[The zombies weren't all that terribly bad. Terrible sure, sure, but they were no draugers. It was a simple task for a large enough group to deal with them. Of course there also had to be more to it than just that.

A worm, a really, really big one, just leapt out from the ground beneath them. That was a change, but... well that would offer a bigger, better challenge than some shambling corpses.

Naegling swoops through the air as he moves to the side to avoid the creature crashing into him, and give it second thoughts.

If a worm can even think.

[Caster had picked a quiet moment to relax in springs- bouncing between places that seemed safe in the wake of her breakdown last month. The last thing she expected was for a large, scarred man to come in looking like he was ready to pick a fight.

This is what happens when you go to the mixed baths, Caster!

She'd at least been told about Chaldea, but as it was, she didn't hold any memories of the 'her' that existed there- so as it was, Caster watched him with an unfamiliar caution.]

( sure, the carriages are slow, but it certainly gives her time to take in everything around her, even as a bunch of boring words about worlds being in danger and time being frozen wash right over her.

why would she concentrate on that when there's an almost perfect mirror image of herself sitting right next to her? a few inches smaller, and the hair isn't quite the right shade of stark white, the smile is a little too crooked, with too many sharp teeth, but it's a good imitation nonetheless! )

Are you going to stay like that?

( the other Calanthe — her familiar — shrugs, and laughs, a girlish ringing that fills up the space around them. not exactly an answer, but the real Calanthe looks delighted nonetheless, and turns to the carriage at large.

ahem, excuse her! she has a question! )

( and with that, they both tilt their heads to one side, sleek bobs bouncing with the movement, and smile. )

( it's hard to tell what the purpose of this video is, as there's nobody on screen, and no words coming from behind the camera. it's just... a blur. the land of rot, filmed at speeds which make it impossible to pick out any key locations which might be indicated without slowing the video down to a frame by frame shot.

of course, doing that will only reveal that this area is pretty nondescript as far as the land of rot goes.

so what's the point of this all? well, that's only revealed a minute into the spinning, blurry film, when the camera finally settles on a single rose somehow growing in the middle of it all. it's quite the beautiful specimen, with regal purple petals and vibrant green leaves. healthy, almost too healthy for its surroundings. anyone with experience with green magic will probably realise that this is not a naturally growing plant.

but whatever message it's supposed to be sending is quickly cut short by the rotting, half-bone foot of a zombie as it carelessly steps in frame, crushing the plant beneath. there's a moment of nothing but that foot in frame, though the more observant among people may notice the slight jiggle of the camera, as though it's moved from two handed to one handed operation, just seconds before snaking, spiralling thorns burst out from under its foot and wrap all around the rotting flesh, digging into skin in a way that would be excruciatingly painful for a living, breathing human.

the feed cuts out. and for those who may be in the land of rot, there's always a chance to come across this scene — a small young woman, her white dress stained with rot and dirt, hair disheveled and expression a far cry from her usual bright smile as she closes her hand into a tight fist and the thorns move in kind, squeezing the zombie into a pile of chunks. )

— wake me up before you're go-gone.

( Calanthe would have gladly talked to the old woman she ran into, but it seems she didn't want to. which is quite rude, really, how many visitors does a place like the land of rot really get? she shouldn't be chasing off the ones who just want to talk.

hmph. well. never mind that, you're here for the awkward moment your character wakes up to find a peacefully sleeping Calanthe, her dress still ruined by the jaunt into the land of rot, turned to face whoever's in bed with her but otherwise silent. at least, until she twitches, just a touch, in her sleep, and the shift of her dress drags soaked fabric against her calf. )

Mmph... Ick. ( she opens her eyes reluctantly. this was so nice up until that very moment brought her back down to earth. ) We can lie in a little bit longer, right?

[ A shout and a splash. Not quite the elegant entrance he would've hoped for...Nevermind that – not drowning right now is a larger priority. The assistance of the jellies is appreciated, even after they stain his skin strange colors. Anji even gives them a friendly wave as he climbs out onto the shore.

Hm. The zessen is missing and that concerns him more than anything else right now. His curiosity about this place isn't quite enough to push that worry aside. He turns to the nearest passerby with a smile. ]

You haven't seen a pair of fans around here, have you?

[ 2. The Red Spring ]

[ How nice a dip in the springs feels after the trip up. He hasn't visited a spring in who knows how long. His eyes are closed, but that doesn't mean he's unaware that he's not alone. Without moving from his spot or even opening his eyes, he addresses whoever the hesitant spring-goer may be with a friendly tone. ]

[ She'd heard words of it in the bars she hung out in. A new arrival, a funny fellow with weird glasses, carried a pair of fans around, unfond of shirts. Certainly, there was a possibility it could all be someone coincidentally similar to that guy, but she wasn't about to take her chances on coincidences. And when she'd heard there was going to be a carnival, she swallowed her own distaste for large gatherings and figured it was probably the place someone like him was most likely to show up. And make a fool of himself. Probably.

It genuinely didn't take her long to find him, either. Anji was the kind of guy whose energy just magnified when he had people around to indulge in. Whether it was (probably) asking natives dozens upon dozens of questions about Avalon, or putting on his own little performance to delight people, probably kids. She expected pretty much all of that.

You'd think a guy who was a fugitive would behave a little less conspicuously. ]

[ She called out to him upon seeing him with a gathered crowd, fairly certain her voice, and that singular syllable, would be plenty of signal for him to realize she was there, too. ]

Soaking in Your Arrival

Plunging abruptly into water is probably the last thing Eiko could have expected, and yet... here she is. She fights, coughing and spluttering, to the surface and manages to board one of the oversized jellyfish she's spotted nearby. It's a little odd that they're just floating in place, but who is she to question such a gift?

After the initial shock wears off, and a couple of false starts, the small purple-haired girl even manages to turn the task of hopping from jelly to jelly into a game. Perhaps not the wisest thing, considering her size and lack of skill in the water, but who's going to tell her that?

Eventually, she makes her way over to join the other new arrivals. Scaling the cliffside stairwell seems a little daunting at first, if only because this world is entirely unknown to her. To make up for that, she decides to just stick close to the others and hope for the best.

Surf New Turf

To say she's a bit skeptical after being told she'll need to partner up and pick out a water creature to ride is an understatement. In fact, Eiko is incredibly skeptical of the entire idea. The thought of just cozying up to someone for this seems ridiculous.

On the other hand, the selection is interesting, to say the least. She's hardly impressive, standing there a bit off to the side of the crocodile. The fact that she'd made a beeline for this one in particular probably says something about her. The fact that she also appears to be attempting to coax a goat closer definitely says something- and it's not that she has a well-developed sense of self-preservation.

"C'mon goaty. Go make friends~"

That's... definitely how that's going to work.

A- Caravan

She was still more than peeved, Zheng was furious. Absolutely and completely livid; her scared face peeled back in a sneer no matter where she looked. Vicious, mean like the she-wolf that walked along beside her in spite of her small size. The weather was still awful, she was still far from home in some barbarian land filled with strange men claiming magical talents and surrounded by those who knew just a little as she. The caveat of it all was that she at least had her possessions back. Her precious axes were strapped securely to her sides, while her hair was done up once more in its usual mess. Held together with her equally precious, jade hair pins.

It certainly didn’t help that her precious few belongings were carelessly thrown into a container labeled a “shit box”.

In short, she very much preferred the company of the horses to that of the other people around her and could be found patting the creatures and feeding them carrots and fruit that she had snuck out from the carriage and elsewhere. “At the very least a horse would never try to back you in the corner like a rat.”

She grumbled to herself in a harsh, hoarse tone. More accustomed to yelling out commands and out of anger.

B- Exercise the Body and the Mind

She had had enough of sitting around and needed to take a moment to process everything that she had learned thus far while also letting off some steam. Traveling to the training grounds when she was sure no one was around, Zheng Jiang went through the motions with her axes. Her face was calm and focused as she moved, step by step with practiced ease. The area was certainly more meant for practicing magic, sure. But she doubted anyone would complain to her about using it for a bit of exercise and meditation.

She rolled, swerved, kicked, and punched at imaginary foes. Despite the twin blades in both hands looking quite heavy for a woman no more than around 5 feet tall. As graceful as her movements might appear on the surface there was also a certain, hidden animalistic anger to them, something that belied her current, calm and thoughtful look.

C- Of drinks and Carnivals

Just what on Earth is a margarita? And what are all these different snacks and games? She was debating on how big of a fan she was of all of it. Sure everything looked fun, but she was still on edge from the whole, transported to another world thing. Rude as all hell if someone were to ask her.

Kidnapping was part of her profession after all!

In any case she sat on a nearby bench, munching away at a snack and drink. Debating on what she should be doing.

D- Farming Dead Dynasty Warriors style!

This wasn't natural, the dead were meant to stay dead! With a growl, one axe swing through the air. Cutting one down before kicking another one away. At least they weren't to difficult to deal with. That being said, there was quite a few of them! Twin axes swing through the air mixed with the twisting movements of her body from the momentum. An attempt to keep herself moving and out of the grasp of any one creature.

That said, numbers were still a thing. And as fierce as she can be, even the Bandit Queen can find herself become overwhelmed by sheer weight.

Still it was obvious that she was putting up quite the fight! As evident by the wake of bodies being left in her wake.

Pidge has never been big on outdoor or nature-related activities. Which might be why her first response to plunging into chilly water is to splutter and flail a bit. Fortunately, her time in worlds not her own has been good to her. She's learned to swim just enough to avoid a prematurely watery grave. By the time she pulls herself atop one of the nearby jellyfish, she's muttering slightly under her breath.

It's occurred to her that there's something slightly sketchy about this scenario. She's obviously not home and it's doubtful that this is Lunatia. It feels different, for one thing. Later, when she's joined the other newbies, she's one of the ones lingering in the back. Better to hang back and get an idea of how the people ahead of her plan on tackling that cliff.

The Red Spring

What are the odds of being dragged into a second world expressly to try and save it? Pidge is pretty skeptical about all of this. Why her, specifically? What is it about her that taps her for this sort of nonsense?

She's also not big on the idea of meeting her randomly-assigned roommate just yet, and so she's camped out in the spring. It had been empty when she'd arrived so she'd snagged a spot in the corner. Her towel and clothes are folded neatly atop her shoes nearby. The water is blissfully warm and so she's had no issue with sinking in up to her chin.

The Farming Dead

"Well, this is new..."

Perhaps she should've paid a bit closer attention when they were explaining her new magical abilities. As it is, she's been fortunate enough to avoid being grabbed by the shambling menace.

Whoever thought it'd be a good idea to allow her the ability to make herself faster just might be her new favorite person, however. She'd discovered it by accident, of course. But now that she has worked it out, Pidge is absolutely going to be taking advantage. The horde of undead are moving rapidly enough to still pose a threat; this just means she'll have to be careful. Fortunately, she'd managed to grab her bayard from the shit box. Unfortunately, it seems to have been demoted to a fancy knife... but that's all she needs at the moment. Any zombie who gets too close will be treated to a rapid-fire flurry of slashes.

It's still just a fancy knife, though, so she might need a bit of assistance in actually taking them out.

He glances back at who he just helped, and his eyes go wide, and a grin crosses his face. "I think I'm about three ahead of you at the moment."

Bae Bae the dog is at his heels, and takes a moment to bark cheerfully, and snuffle at Pidge's calves.

[So, being thrown into a mysterious new world and being told his home is in danger and frozen in time should be pretty scary stuff - and it is! - but it's also pretty freakin' cool. This is the kind of stuff you see on TV or read about in manga and light novels! It's not a real thing that really happens, even if Reki doubts he's really hero material...

But, that's why you practice. Heroes aren't made in a day, and maybe learning how to use magic is going to be radically different from learning how to skate, but he's ready and willing.

Also, he wants to record his progress. He stands in front of an obstacle course - apparently he's got kinetic magic, so this'll be a good trial? - and brandishes his phone at anyone who doesn't look too busy with their own practice.]

[There's a yelp, and then a red-haired teen is stumbling in front of you. His arms pinwheel for a moment, and he only barely manages to catch himself. But then he ends up clinging to the nearest solid object - or person - and it soon becomes apparent. There's just... Brooms. Brooms that seem hell bent on sweeping Reki away.]

You gotta help me, man! They're possessed!

[Reki will never admit the way he screams when he meets the hag. This whole thing has been a mistake - why did he think he could fight zombies? What did he think he was going to do?!

[ He shouts it, not long before colliding into the guy, wrapping his arms around him. He throws his entire body into the gesture. He doesn't care if they hit the ground, he'll make sure Reki's head is safe, of course. He's just so happy to see his friend here. ]

[ It was a good hamburger. And these were dry clothes. It's not that he swims routinely, but he's done enough swimming that he knows how to get himself to shore without much help. As soon as he makes it to land, the small yeti makes it's way towards Langa. It stares up at him, expectantly, and Langa shifts down, picking it up into his arms. ]

Do you have any idea what this means? Or where we are, even?

[ Is he asking the creature? Someone nearby? It's impossible to say and the yeti doesn't seem like he's going to be answering him anytime soon. So, here he is. After a few minutes of looking around, the creature makes his way up to settle on top of Langa's head. ]

I guess we have to go up, huh?

[ Oh boy. ]

II. The Red Spring

[ He doesn't get to really go to hot springs very often. What a nice surprise. After settling in a room, praying briefly and being relieved over the fact that the toilet was a western one. He wasn't sure what he was going to expect, but here he was. He tucked away his skateboard and put on a pair of blue swim trunks, then made his way to the spring.

If there's someone already there, he'll hesitate before climbing in. If he beats the others there, he can be found settling into the water, really relaxed, with a yeti perched on his head and enjoying the feel of the water on his limbs. ]

I don't get to do this much.

III. Surf New Turf

[ He...wants to ride them -- especially the Alpacapies. Langa's standing there with an ice cream cone watching as the interesting sea life is allowing them to ride them. He starts taking bites of the ice cream, and eating it as quickly as possible. A couple bites in that quick sting hits his head but he's motivated because he's interested in something that moves through the water and takes skill to do. As he gets to the bottom of his ice cream cone, he hesitates a moment. ]

[Shinra's been standing around the docks, eyeing the aquatic mounts warily. He's a little apprehensive about another chance of getting dumped into water but knows this is a better alternative than having to go through the Forest of the Felled again.

The question from a stranger surprises him but there's no reason for him to decline. Might as well go. More practice now when things are calm just means if he ever needs mounts when things are bad, he has less chance of falling.]

Sure, why not. They were saying something about one person steering and one person being combatant. What kinda magic do you have?

[Ideally, he should learn how to do both roles since the element he can use best currently is fire and that's not going to be very useful with all the water around but he's not picky about what to start with so they can decide based on what the other guy is best suited for. Or even what he wants to do.]

[ god, was he ever lucky to have those jellyfish around to help him to shore, or else he would’ve died upon arrival. water was an element he always ran over, not sank into. even so, the water in his quills was unsettling.

the first thing he does is shake the water out, not realizing that someone was around. once seen, however, all he does is give a sheepish smile. ]

Wow, you’re super friendly, aren’t you?

[ out of all the aquatic mounts, the alpacapie caught his attention the fastest— not for the fact that it’s helpful in the water, rather because he could have the farthest distance away from the water as possible. no super speed meant he had to take things into his own hands when it came to avoiding water, and that usually included asking for help.

luckily asking for help from the alpacapie was a lot easier than he thought it would be. maybe it was because he could ask for one’s help? but even so, holding conversation was sonic’s forte, as he can never resist a good conversation. ]

[Darin wasn't sure what to expect to come splashing down into the bay. It sure wasn't...a bipedal, blue hedgehog.]
